"What’s wrong with the game?"

The Players.

If you think that is sufficient answer, skip the rest of my post and perpetuate the problem. If you want to understand that a bit more accurately and become part of the solution read on. (That being said, spend a few minutes reading the post and try to look at it objectively rather than just complain it's a long post.)

Admin is not the problem. He is constantly trying to improve it and at every turn we do nothing but complain about it. We derail all ways he tries to improve the game and get feedback from us by not getting past our petty rivalry or spite for one another to see that and actually take an active, constructive part in these opportunities. He gives us a very rare thing in the gaming world. A rather large voice in how this game is made.

Spenders vs Non-Spenders is not the problem. In the TV series the humans had struggles against the galactic bad guys and yet they and their opponents both felt they were right. Suck it up and deal with it. There is always going to be a bigger fish eventually come along and kick your ass. Welcome to reality.

In short, 'What’s wrong with the game'? We all are for sitting here repeating the same thing over and over, complaining and not getting past our issues with others long enough to realize we all enjoy the game and wish it to continue. Never take the opportunity to come together as a community to make it better or just sitting back and saying nothing when the admin asks for help. Even when someone does try to constructively help, others don't and derail it or they actually agree with him and he goes back into the offensive with them and ends up derailing things himself.

A better question for the topic is, "What kind of people are we".

Either way. Shame on us all!

btw did these bad guys bought it or developed the tech they had.
in real life everything comes by your progress so dont sell schi-fi gaps at cheap dude.

as every game it has problems, which have been exploited by those who encountered them and had the means to take an advantage.
teh relation Game-Players isnt the problem of the game but whispers who changed the game in their advantage. The lack of admin team to be more close with the community instead of certain players.
The feeders and exploiters were never put hold. lets not mention the outer game cash market.
little has been done to prevent these cheaters and nothing to stop this trio-sickness.

I once thought this, but I have learned this is not the case.

What breeds this is lack of participation. Many update discussion threads go up, how often do we see few participants...and how often are good ideas shelved due to this and disagreeing just for the sake of disagreeing..what woofy said is spot on..it's US and you included..if WE ALL participated more in construction, and less in destruction, it would amaze everyone how better it can get.

I was referring to cash deals of ALL types and the gap between new players and people that have been here for years.

We are not going to get past things by just screaming "whats wrong" but by actually working together as a community in trying to help find ways to make the game more balanced (even if it hurts). To do this we are going to have to see even the most stubborn people get past their in game rivalries and understand that the other person is just that.. a person and not an ingame persona and just might actually have a good idea that could help balance things a bit, allow for new people to have a chance, make the game more interesting, have actually GAME DEFINED winners of war and things along that line rather than just jump back into that rivalry and derail things. Hell, JT just agreed with me in something I posted. Who the hell saw that coming?!?! This is what actually needs to happen more often when admin asks for help on dev, or asks for feedback on an update. Go back in some of those threads and you will see admin is not the problem and the updates everyone here seems to think are making the game worse, well, YOU HAD YOUR CHANCE TO HELP and guess what. Almost every feedback page is spammed and people being trolled for their ideas rather than being constructive.

We all brought the game to its state now. Stop trying to place blame on someone else and take responsibility as a member of this community to swallow your damn pride once in a while and ask your rival if they would like to get together and help you take ideas to the admin. If you don't, you are part of the problem as this is your community and by generosity of the admin in allowing you opportunities to help evolve this game, its your game too.

Suck it up and take responsibility or shut your pie holes and quit trolling sections where people are actually trying to do something constructive.

And NO, this is not meant for anyone specifically in the slightest. This is EXACTLY what I think is wrong with the game. Players laying blame on someone else rather than take responsibility.

keep your destruction in the game. NOT the evolution of it and development. Stop complaining and start working together with people. If not, you are going to see nothing but this seemingly endless cycle of blame game going on and nothing constructive happening.

How many of you here have actually participated (constructive way) in the admin meetings.. the bug reports.. the update threads.. WITHOUT spamming or trolling someone?? YOU ARE THE PROBLEM, and so am I. We all are and we can either keep going back and forth about it like children fighting over a toy or we can act with some modicum of maturity and HELP fix things.

By participate constructively I don't mean make one post and leave. I mean follow it up and actually understand things and help others to do the same.

As a community we have abandoned all ethics to better ourselves and traded that for childishness. If you can't understand that then obviously you are too damn childish to be able to add any worthwhile input into fixing the problems anyway. When you are ready to get past that, conduct yourself with some maturity, then you might be an actual well respected member of the community and not just another troll with an account.

Ten pages so far in this thread.. TEN PAGES. Imagine what could actually get done to help the problems we have if we had ten pages of CONSTRUCTIVE posts in update feed backs. Or this many people participating CONSTRUCTIVELY in admin meetings? Instead of seeing something Like that in those threads, we see people carrying on like children screaming "SOMEONE STOLE MY TOY" or some other BS. As I remember there were what, less than 15 people in the last admin meeting. Those that did participate... well, lets just say it appeared to be a fiasco all around and admin appeared to leave because it was a troll fest.


Take responsibly people. WE ARE ALL what is wrong with this game. Through lack of participation of bettering it or not getting past our differences long enough to see our ingame opponent is actually trying to help and might have a good idea. DAMN! Get over yourselves and grow the hell up. ALL OF YOU. If we can't do this together, then stop standing in the way of people that do try and being counter productive or nothing will change and we all fail.

Some people do try to participate, others do not. This causes many of our issues. Hell, some people say 'xxx is controlling admin blah blah blah, everything they want they get blah." well, perhaps XXXX was trying to be constructive in one of the many ways the admin tries to get feedback and ideas on updates and what did you do? Either sat there and didn't participate or spent your time there trolling someone that did. Well, of coarse XXXX is going to have some of their ideas implemented. They were constructive in giving them and they were viable solutions that could be worked in. All ideas cant be worked in but whatever the admin sees he can, he does. Some great ideas have been in this thread. Get off your asses and take them to the next admin meeting and leave your spite for other players on the server.

Quit CAUSING problems and help to solve them. Post your suggestions without trolling others and don't go on the offensive if someone questions your idea. Leave your BS at the door.

There are 3 now that need participation and 1 needs some testing, the blood realm war, the covert causing war, the strike defense ratio..let's get on those and hash out a game system that works for EVERYONE. I suggest we do whatever we do in the medium to low range accounts since they make up the larger % of active accounts.

JT u probably remember well what updates came from whispers. they had enough weight to change the game of many players now long gone.
since the beginning experienced players asked the game admin to fix certain issues that would lead to a future downhill but instead off fixing new game modules came alive carrying the mistakes or bugs for years.
The path was chosen "why fixing when u can progress" yea indeed the typical error man made.
every time of a big update pack a bunch of players left, our friends.
now the cycle is closed all game features had their peak (strike/def planets/MS ascending cov/ac)
but the core of the issues was still there.

we have all been on forum calling off game issues minor or major and we all wanted a better game while fighting each-other ideas. while we used forums some others had direct talks wit admin.
thats why i call Whispers.
certain updates were to give/take a game advantage to a side, while the other had to adapt fast.
never both sides agreed on an update and u know the reason.


even now i see u are asking minor changes to fix some mechs while u know the game is being abused by an exceeding farming and feeders.

the cosmic rule Adapt or Perish applied in this corrupted system means go whisper to smone and u ll get it.

Bug reports, Game suggestions, update feedback, Admin IRC meetings.. All public and not whispers.

I maintain our lack of constructive participation in these areas is what is whats wrong with the game. This is the most basic thing we can change and no one but us can do it. Admin can't.

If you want to see changes, get with someone you dont necessarily like ingame. Ask them if they are willing to put aside all the ingame animosity long enough to work together so you both can continue to enjoy the game. Discuss RATIONALLY what you would like to see changed in the game and don't go ballistic if they don't agree and question your ideas validity. If you can manage to get past your differences, GREAT! Spread it like a damn vaccine because our community is sick and we are all (obviously from reading posts here) sick and tired of the same old thing.

Sorry for making so many long posts but I feel everyone is flooding answers and possible solutions in the wrong place and missing the point that there is one problem that keeps ALL the others firmly in place. Our lack of constructive/active participation in the process of finding solutions. This one needs to be fixed before any of the others will ever have a chance.

People can yap about things all they want, if nobody thinks they are being heard, they will stop trying. Doesn't matter if they actually are or aren't, if they think they are not, then its the same as if they are not. So I think that would help increase the participation you keep preaching about, and I say preaching because that is exactly how your posts are written

Preaching? Could be read that way I suppose. Other ways of saying it didn't seem to work...So why not embrace a little change?

Then what we need to do is what the Galactic Council was conceived for..is amongst ourselves talk about things, refine it into a package and present it to admin from us...I'm not defending admin but..if I were him, and got ideas from 100 different people I couldn't do it..I would ask for a package of ideas that represents "us"

I agree. But most of, not all of those discussion were full of people trolling someone else for their ideas just cause they were ingame opponents or the ideas weren't workable. That dosen't mean we can't try again and try as a group to make a better effort.

Yes, more admin participation would be nice and would really help with the moral of everyone. I agree with that completely.

I agree JT. Package deals that we as a group can discuss and have just a few people present it is a much better approach. As Lithium pointed out.. the old approaches didn't work.
