Whatever happened to small alliance wars?

Pfft, disagree with me all you like. Never said I had the answers, just my own answers. ^_^ Nice to see some agreement though.


One of the reasons these small alliances do not come to the forums is because when they do, they get "OMG HOW CUET SUCH SMALL ALLIEANSES MAEKIN WAR". Not really encouraging to post your few million-kills, now is there?
Also, when I -small player- mass Bobby's 1M defenders and post about that, ten people pounce on me because 1M defenders is not 'post-worthy', or because they think it is bullying and OMG they will show me.. No really, you expect me to return?
One quick look at the war threads (filthy and full of absolutely random hate) and you know why small alliances do not post their own war threads.

It is entirely without logic that people reply to war threads with "Oh, wanna see what happens if I -insert bigwig bragger name- jump in on x side!?" (You really think any of those small alliances will say: "No, we do not want to see what happens if your lardy ass joins some small time alliance, we want to see what the small time alliances do. Get the hell out.") Get real..


Aside from the fact that small alliances are very very peaceful.. And a bunch of them collapsed.

It's very common that some of the smaller players have friends in the major alliances, and when ever small player X fights with small player Y, a friend of one of them comes on forums and says "if you mass my friend you will be dealing with my level 40/40 and 10T MS" etc.

This needs to stop.

Let the small alliances fight the small alliances.

1. Because they prefer to keep off the radar and avoid getting massed for anything they say on the forums, like SS and Duck Dodgers said.
2. Because they don't stand a snowflake's chance in summer to getting (as individuals, and especially as alliances) anywhere close to the big guys' levels unless they avoid repeatedly wasting their resources on wars (and most don't even then).

I dislike the last segment. I haven't been around in awhile but when I was an active player, FIGHTING in wars was HOW you grew in power. You conquered one alliance, and the loser paid the winner the damages, and in some cases, even the better members from the losers joined the conquering alliance.

I miss having "loans" out from various alliances paying me for damages caused by destroying them. lol...

Grow by assimilation. Was a really fun style of warring. Is that no longer here? =/. Thats how I'm planning to run KT... again...

Well, good luck with that - I don't know you, so you might have success with it for all I know. But more likely, by next year you (and your active members) will have joined one of the major alliances. Growing, warring, having fun, by all means, but with the idea of leading a new, independent alliance left behind in the past.

LoL. The only "large" alliance I was a member of was Fahq, and that was for about a month before I quit. I usually just stuck to 1v1s and taking on small alliances. Least, thats the only larger alliance I can remember being in... I can go look through some old posts and double check xD

I'll do my best. I have noticed some of the war style and format has changed, but no biggie. Small warring alliances were just more fun to me. And, if you die, you die. Oh well. lol. Tis just a game. Rebuild and try again ^_^

I would list the following as 'major alliance':
Tauri Alliance
The Dark Dominium
Omega Allegiance
Forgotten Serenity/Mayhem (These are intermittently major, usually one at the expense of the other.)


That leads to a conservative 4 more wars between 'minor' alliances. (These minor alliances can still kick ass, let me make that clear.. but they are not 'major' alliances.)

So your putting Ricos as minor league and The Legion as well. Ricos are Goa'ulds , GODS IF YOU WILL.!

Just because we have been friendly for the last year or two, don't make us minor. Try us if you think we are minor

We have stood toe to toe with those "major" alliances. Currently we have 9 players on vacation, 1 player who has gone rogue but is available for destroying accounts if he is given a big enough prod

And we have conducted it all with one race.........Goa'uld

Maybe it is time I pull the plug on the sarcophaguses and awaken the Lords and order a mass of an an alliance or two.

When I started, DDE/Omega Empires where the big boys, but there was so many other alliances that battled against each other. Each could win on the day and be a right pain the the big boys backsides.

But, it is the same as any other game like gatewars or even RL. It starts out as many and ends up as large groups, it is the natural order of the world.

Take the car industry, pharma etc. Still a few small innovator companies but mostly have merged/taken over etc.

New alliances will not take off very easily as every one has NAPS and DRA and friends in the game.

I can't remember the last time two non-name (as in major players, page one alliances etc...) alliances went at it because two newbies were arguing. When I first started there were all sorts of conflicts between small alliances. TÅTS used to get in them semi-regularly and it was just us. What's changed and why does there seem to always be peace among the small alliances?

The never ending war mentality by certain entity, the massing and harrassing of anyone thought to be affiliated with the enemy of such entity, the idea that if you dont give me your cookies i will take them from somebody else by a certain entity..the constant useless political positioning by way of propoganda and slander preventing ( or trying to prevent) practical game changes that will allow smaller or minor alliances to war each other without interference etc etc etc and so forth.

Its time to move forward I say, there are things on the block that can be implemented, so lets get em done..most notably the blood war.

Its also very hard for a small person to actually stand up to a bigger one.
Also 'bigger' changed to whoever has the highest cov level, not the biggest army anymore, UU are expandable.

The caps are stopping growth, but growth is not army size anymore.
