Tis a piece of crap and will ruin main for people that have worked for their accs
I can see your point of view, this does seem a little unfair to the players who have put years into the game only to have a noob catch up very quickly. But at the same time, the game needs something to make it feel like you have a chance as a noobie. This could potentially bring in new players (albeit not much because who plays these types of games any more?). This is the type of game that would probably fare alot better on a mobile device.
The admins will do anything to bring in new players because it is a potential new revenue stream. Just my .02.Quite right, Atomos. However, when making $, one has to keep in mind that their customers need to have some pleasure playing the game.Atomos wrote:Admins will do anything to boost their revenue? Well yeah, who doesn't like money. No one builds/runs games for the warm fuzzy feeling of doing something nice![]()
This is not the type of game you get on and put all your attention into for hours on end. It's a text based game that you log onto to bank, scan for good naq/DMU hits for a short time and make a few quick account changes here and there, then forget about it. On PC people play the kinds of games that look pretty and can keep them completely engaged. This game is like a more complicated version of World War or some other text game you can find on the Android/Apple store. It's a game that keeps you occupied for a short time, which is awesome in the cell world, where you can pick it up do whatever you need to do then put it away on the go anywhere.
That is actually a good idea, make a mobile app for android/Apple that can perform essential functions without having to load the whole website and paste them in their respective stores (Free would be good to get extra traffic in, and people will download just about anything just because it's free). Maybe a paid version along with the free version that gives goodies (like market supporter is now). Then if something complicated comes up that you don't want to do on the phone, the PC comes in. Hell, built in chat and maybe mobile access to the forums. Meh, I think I am thinking too big, gettin out of control in my head, because now I am thinking up GUI ideas and I know exactly 0 about Java.
I think if you can get alot of traffic in with a well built free app, this could go hand in hand with the ascended TDM competition. It would be awesome to have a round go with thousands of players, and you know people would be constantly checking their phones for statuses and updates. That competition for me was the highlight of the whole game for me so far, and I cannot wait for the next one. Being able to do things on the fly would be a huge plus because of my work schedule.
Man, someone needs to get crackin on this.
