Was it not Blahh+co's indiscriminate farming that tipped CoP's bucket?
This was later, possibly even over a year later.Norbe wrote:Juliette wrote:That might be because it was a 'split' of TL's main alliance that started attacking CoP under the age old "We are not part of the agreement"-argument.

Don't confuse CIA/CoP with the later "server war". There was no agreement between the newly formed TL and CoP in 2007, nor did TL have more than a single alliance at it's formation. Svarun can correct me if i'm remembering it wrong. I believe it was just a few naq hits on CoP for very large amounts of naq that prompted CoP to hit TL (It was standard for CoP to mass a whole alliance for a single naq hit on any of their members). In this case they didn't anticipate the CIA response. In 2008, Blahh left TLE and began farming FUAll, which triggered FUAll into launching the "server war" against TLE and it's allies under The Janus Pact (later: The Task Force).

I'm pretty sure we launched the first strike. The naq hits were just signs of the war incoming. There was alot behind the scenes.
In short TL grew to large, but CoP arrogancy left us be for to long.
At the start of the TF/FUAll "server" war.. it was FUAll that launched the first strike. Both sides were debating where/when to make the strike, but we had a NAP. FUAll broke that NAP a few weeks before it expired by launching a massive strike against TLE/TAF/TO. I'm 100% positive on that because I was TÅ HC and was around at the time FUAll started hitting TÅF in the final days of May 2008. The strike caught TA as off guard as possible considering we knew there would be a war. I was writing an essay for uni when they attacked and got an email alert from 311 frantically trying to gather TÅF players online to defend. On our side after many debates we had agreed to wait until the NAP expired before launching any strike; a decision Blahh did not agree with.
I'm not sure we are talking about the same thing. 'TLE' did not happen for quite some time. In the beginning there were a dozen players, no other empire related alliance were created by then (TDL etc)
I'm trying to find some history about the first signs, but the mods of this forum never been quite capable of leaving things for the community.
