This is aimed at Tok'ra. It is just a loose collection of my thoughts that I feel I should share. No matter how I phrase this, apparently anything that bares your name grows your e-penis and or your ego. None the less, I will continue and I will let my opinion be known.
I don't know you in real life. I don't know what kind of person you are. In life, I've come across people who act like you do, but not when they're at a computer. I know idiots who run around and say sometimes-funny things, and at other times they're just plain annoying, and they think they're funny. Then, I've met people online who think they're superior to everyone else, even know they aren't. They like crawling around and they like to be sneaky. They do everything they can do push the administrators buttons, just to see how long it takes to get banned, and then try to evade the ban.
These people can vary in age. They can be fifteen, or fifty. Some of these people are socially-inept, and think they can gain some type of "power" over people by going online and to act like something they aren't. Thats the crown jewel of the internet. Anonymity. I can tell you I'm a thirty-five year old Lt. Commander in the Navy, and I could fabricate some images or something, and I could get 95% of the people to believe me.
Another thing internet crowds like to do, jump on bandwagons. When you have an egomaniac, people will jump on his bandwagon and they will worship him. They will defend him. Not good.
Then, there are the moderators and administrators. They have to take the brunt of the community's anger when something gets out of hand. Then the "big headed ego people" start pushing buttons.
Not much more needs to be said, other than this. Tok'ra. Get a life. Go outside. Stop posting useless and uninformative things. You're one of the top posters here. That usually means you have way too much free time. Go to the gym, go to a movie, hell, go to the beach! Do something that actually serves a purpose, not just sitting at your computer for hours at a time annoying the hell out of people.
If you have something to say to me, please respond as you see fit.
Thanks.
interesting list of former mods, not many at all still around..
would be interesting to see the list of first mods/admins and how many of those survived the 8yr mark

Section Admins - who will be 'in charge' of the section in question. They will be responsible for the overall feel of the section, the setup/structure, and most importantly the community/users in the section. This will incorporate the old 'ombudsman' role. And insofar as the Section Admin is responsible for the users, they are also responsible for the high level mod behaviour towards the users.
So -as a user - if you have an issue with how you are treated, rules, bans, whatever --goto the section admin... They are there for you!
There is no 'reporting structure' in this setup -- tech, mod, and section admins are all on equal footing, each with their own (somewhat overlapping) responsibilities.
Mods report directly to the mod admin, and indirectly to the section admin for the section in which they mod.

The good Old days of the game, not many still about but at least a small part of my legacy as Mod head still lasts.

Why so many taken on that day,
Justice has never been done, but their memory will carry on,

I dont recall JGG at all, but then I didn't use forum until 2006. Psi has been rather quiet of late too.. which is a shame given his long links
