War Threads

Not every allaince is the same, some can actually have a thread filled with banter and role play and the ability to not post childish insults, so not every allaince should be made to obide a strict ruleset cause two allainces wreck it for everyone else...

perhaps every ban even a first ban should be 2 weeks and then double every ban eg the next should be a month long instead of 2 weeks then 3rd be 2 months

I have been here i dont no 8 years or something like that i put a self imposed ban for 2 months come back its the same crap im like shh

Bans are pointless, anything severe enough to hurt gets over-turned.

factual things in game

EG player 1 takes out player 2 defence or planet

nothing else but in game facts

observations are not allowed like this

im sorry george its been more than 2 alliances actually Im not naming them but the top 5 alliances/empires in the past 6 months have had bad war threads

So you'd like to be perma banned?

Think of it this way. If everyone who posts something bannable gets banned then perma banned, there'll be no one left to post, thus killing the forum and then ultimately the game completely dies.

Give the mods some credit people, they're doing everything they can to cojtrol this place. It's the attitudes some people take the mess it up for everyone else.

and they will continue to do so.
Its the tones of the war that are the problem.

It is completely possible to have a decent thread. Look at all of HVEs (even our **Filtered** ones do not get THAT bad).

Agreed, people take it far too seriously and then resort to hateful slander that they'd never say to someone's face just because it's an internet forum. I get so very tired of it

I was banned and deleted mate. And yet here I am.

Bans aren't the answer. Showing a spine and sticking to a decision is what is needed.
When someone earns a perma-ban, let them go. If it means banning the most active forum patron, then so be it! This whole "the community is dwindling, let em go" crap is removing any punishment and giving people a get out of jail free card. Some times you need to just say **Filtered** it.

You can yell at someone all day long till you are blue in the face,, if they know you can't do anything to them why the hell should they care? Its that simple. This place is a shattered system and until it actually changes... nothing is going to get any better.

And yes. Its not just the mods. It Is Everyone.

You don't need hate to be at war with someone. There were times when people warred with one another for the hell of it, and remained relatively civil throughout.

The recent hate that has been slung around the GC is appalling. There were lows I didn't know some users could stoop to, but they certainly proved me wrong.

The forum as a whole is experiencing a lot of problems with users knowingly breaking the rules and wearing their bans like a badge of honor. Changing the overall feeling of this community is quite difficult when it is being poisoned from within by trolls who do nothing but debase and slander other users "for the lulz".

It's sickening, and it needs to be fixed. The biggest question we all face is, "How?"

The problem as I see it is that whatever is done will be 'punishing the many for the acts of the few' to coin a phrase.

The idea of only allowing relevant posts in the GC is a good idea, but what about those who enjoy the 'banter'? Make a new section for them? I don't think it's an issue of hate, more of self control, just because it's the internet doesn't mean you can get away with talking to people like they're dirt
