I'm sure I'm not the first person to say this (in fact I know because of a topic currently residing on the front page here) but I sure do miss this game.
This is a game that dominated my free time, controlled my thoughts, changed the way I view and approach games. The passion, the class, and the sheer epicness of this games users' delivered to me an experience I have not forgotten nor recreated in any other game of any genre. The alliances, the commanders, the forums, everything coming together making this game with 0 graphics besides a few pictures into a masterpiece.
Words don't seem to do it's impact justice. Whenever anybody talks up their WoW endeavors, or whatever new flash in the pan RPG they jump into, I express how I used to play a REAL RPG. Where people of all walks came together to create a community that was both filled with complex diplomacy and inviting at the same time. Where people paid 1000's of dollars just to have a bigger number!
But hey! I'm talking about this as if it's 6 feet under. As if it's something that no longer exists! You're still here. It's amazing to see that there are still people around after all this time. Some names familiar, some names I don't recognize, Stargatewars is still getting one up on father time.
I've made a brand new account today. I don't even begin to understand what Newgrounds is so it's on the Main server. I did some attacking for far more resources than were available before (I don't know what a good attack is nowadays but hey I'll take 50bil a pop!). Hit an Asgard and got freakin Hologrammed for the first time in years
I don't know how much I'll play, I think I'm gonna try to get supporter status at least as a micro-goal. But I'm just so tickled that this game I played in high school is kicking after I've gotten my college degree.
Congrats to all who are still around. Thanks for the memories, maybe I'll make a new one or two.
