Where too begin aye, having really hoped the whole situation would of been addressed and this wouldnt of occured right at the end, enough is enough. Had a cracking time playing this game the last two era, but completely speechless, who would of thought the optimum objective of the game would be too ride on the back of a script too get the best end results.

I'm a pretty methodical person when it comes too gaming and producing the right numbers, but this is just lol. I have too say i feel rightly upset for those that actually spent $$ this Era, luckily i wasnt one of them.

So having taking my frustration out on the server, I wont be returning too Q. Never quiet understand the views of some of the players over Era's of let downs, fair play for sticking through it, i've met my quota. Onto better things. So fair do's, would of been a nice battle for top spot this Era.

Cork, signing out once again from SGW. Who knows might return another 9 years down the line.

As I said in the PM, I can't try to persuade you to remain as that'd be hypocritical of me seeing how I'll only decide whether I will continue after seeing how the new era is set up. But hopefully Haz has learned his lesson and next era will be better and with more input from the players. We got rid of quite a few cheaters this era, either by Haz banning them or by us sitting on them, so that's something and hopefully those cheaters don't return.

Now Haz please start listening to those of us who have been here for a long time in regards to balancing the game. USSs brought huge advantage throughout the era. It was imbalanced. Auto ascension was yet another thing that hugely imbalanced the era and was completely unnecessary. Why? Because in the 2nd ascension era, each time you ascended your stats (along with income) doubled (or were multiplied by the square root of 2, can't remember any more but I am absolutely sure they doubled in the first era). When Juliette took over, she nerfed the ascension multiplier to 1.1 and added some of the limits from NG which are completely idiotic because you wind up with the accounts set up exactly the same at the end, same techs, usually same C & AC levels, same types of weapons, they only differ in the amount of units trained in different stats. Auto ascension of farms was completely unnecessary when the ascension multiplier was nerfed that far down. Think about it, at level 10, your income is 2.6x of someone who isn't ascended at all and due to ascension wiping out your army, you would have ended up with way fewer units than in most of the other eras and in the era with no special features (the previous one, if memory serves me right), I was a Goa'uld, top army size and top income for the first half of the era and I was getting 10ATs worth of income per turn, with ascension wiping out your army and taking the multiplier in account, you'd maybe wind up with getting 15 AT worth of income per turn, MAYBE 20 if you really worked hard and were a Goa'uld. That's still pretty balanced. When the multiplier was the SQRT of 2, the income was ~29x bigger. It was necessary to balance it out somehow, could have been done without auto-ascending, but alas, it was what it was.

Anyway, everyone is sick of the ascension eras already. Hopefully this really is the last one and the next one is a balanced, fun and - most of all - a brand new era.

You say that but how can we base game play on something that is not an intentional aspect of the game. How are the players supposed to know that if you stay at a certain army size for a certain amount of time then they would gain a free ascension... and if we did know this why would any of us that were playing with purpose click that dam ascension button.... because at the end of the day there's no point to it

What a funny trend going on in GW.. You guys fix what isn't broken and don't fix the things that are broken, lovely.
Can you please explain to me WHY the feature was necessary to "balance" out the game? Because from what I've seen, you just took a broken era and didn't change a thing to it this time round. There are around 30 different eras you could have chosen, but you chose a broken one and one that we've already played 3 times before.

I agree with corkscrew it was pure dumb luck that a few of us got the upper hand just because the front runners where trying to knock through ascensions to get ahead. Not to mention the players that use there dollars to get ahead. Myself and many others got ahead by doing nothing. Now if everyone knew about the free ascensions it might have been better. But as far as I know nobody knew. The argument could be made if everyone know about the free ascension everyone would have tried to push through ascensions to have it easier at the end. The point is nobody knew.

I read this post and then couldn't believe it was an actual admin saying it. Are you serious? "Why rush to work for levels, when you can do nothing and get them for free!!!" How about not making an era where players try to ascend as many times as they can, and then telling players "well, you shouldn't have ascended so fast?"

Quantum server has a limited amount of time to play each era. If players are reaching the point where they can ascend, and then waiting to ascend, is that not time wasted for their next ascension? Not to mention these players are already behind the $$$$ spenders


Then again, who cares? This thread will disappear shortly just like every other thread critical of Quantum has, and Haz will have fun running a dead server, still spewing his "Complain or compete!" to nobody at all. Your complete mismanagement of everything that has happened since you took over is making the longtime players quit Q. What exactly do you think the chances are of attracting new ones?

The script does not even check the last login field in the Database and we have no idea what it criteria are for auto ascending accounts. how are the players to blame for badly written and foolishly implemented scripts.#

so now that most of the era has been played and none of it mattered you now say we have to start competing!!!
its like a football match where one team is winning 3-0 and then the ref just gives the other team 3 free goals because they didn't try hard enough and now the game is decided on penalties. WTH IS THE POINT OF THAT ???????????????????

Hmmm....I have to agree with what the guys said. I'm a noob where it comes to all the in-depth calculations but even I noticed that last change to be a huge mistake. As Hammond mentioned, last log in date should have been checked. Doesn't matter how you spin it, I think that we can all agree that this era was a fail.

With all the drama happening this era, on and off the server I do think we all need something new and refreshing...and fun! Holding thumbs Haz will provide us with that.

I would also like to say to the guys who's called it quits, please don't. Like I said to Nem, go take a couple of days break, get drunk, get uhmm...well you get the picture.. but come back!! It wont be fun without you all
