I tried adjusting everything for like 8hrs on way and got so pissed i was seriously temped to go and hunt out a sledge hammer and vent my frustrations on the source.

You over cooked your 360 and now are suffering hardware failure you'll need to call up M$ and force them to send you a return box so you can have it repaired

If you are no longer covered under warrenty there are a couple things you can do 1 You can do this or 2 you can crack open the case (instructions here) though if you do crack open the case I HIGHLY recommend a water cooling mod just make sure you know what you're doing

Buy a PS3 and you'll have a good piece of hardware. Sure all we're getting (PS3) is ports of XBox for the time being!
Any way.. what made you buy a 360 over a PS3?

Sorry Jack but the PS3 beats the 360 in graphics and price.
The PS3 uses a NVIDIA RSX based on their G70 card, it has a blu-ray built in, wireless controllers with six-axis tilt, we have Metal Gear Solid, GTAIV will be better on the PS3, we have more slots including USB's, PS3 is black etc...

For arguments sake let's say you have AC (air conditioning). Most TVs are in a corner, or along a back wall near a vent. How much would plopping the unit on the vent with cooled air coming out reduce the temperature of the unit (or using those air deflectors to shoot cool air at the back of the unit)?

It should cool it down a good bit. These new consoles heat up way too much. My PS3 is in my bedroom and when I have it on it's like having the radiator on!
You can buy a cooling system that fits onto the PS3 that keeps it really cool, I'm sure 360 would have one as well.

The 360 is cheaper then the PS3 :\ the specs you just quoted me are only better on paper and in reality the Xbox looks better then the PS3 you can also keep your extra slots I want a console not a computer You'll have MGS exclusivity for a limited time then it will port to the Xbox we stole AC: 6 from you you may also keep your controllers I've heard many a bad things about them we got H3 AC6 GoW and a far better online service then Sony will ever offer for free

Six-axis tilt is a novelty but they are bringing out the old style of vibrating controllers
PS3 tried to out-do 360 on graphics and they did it but 360 has the games!
This was opposite for PS2 and Xbox. Xbox had the graphics but PS2 had the games.
We have LBP Cutest game EVER.
Sony had to release the controller to keep up the the Wii and M$ has to release a more "supped-up" version of the Xbox with a HDMI connection, bigger HDD etc.. to keep up with PS3.
PS3 will win in the long run. You can quote me on that

EDIT: We also have 'Home' which should be good. Also we have MANUHUNT 2 for PS2
Does 360 get firmwire updates?

Yes the 360 gets firmware updates I have MANHUNT II for my PS2 which is about $550 cheaper then your PS3 M$ doesn't have to keep up with Sony the PS3 is selling less then the other systems the PS3 sells tanked

Us Europeans got screwed with the PS3's. Cost more than the American ones and we didn't get a backwards capability chip but the firmwire updates took care of that! Manhunt 2 isn't out for another week or so here
