well with the new update of the market, its harder to get uu now
from that its harder to replace you units you lose when farming people
we need the merc production to be turned up to help some, as of now its sad. if your not there in the first min after a turn their all gone, then your out of luck and no merc for you.
and even then you can only buy a few k at a time.
Increase merc production

I agree JUAN, something should be done to counter this - not sure merc production is the answer though - not unless it is increased by a substantial amount - as it is very easy just to type '999' in the box and then rapidly click on the buy button numerous times.
And increasing merc production may just reignite the whole thing....

perhaps tied to this could be the fact that mercs desert if your trained forces drop below a certain % of the level you need to actually be able to buy your max number of mercs. This could stop potential abuse and also make sure that mercs do not desert simply due to battle casualties?

why not just make it have an infinite number of mercs? would be the same as 100 mil, we could just avoid the moment when they would run short. (could happen sooner than most of us expect)

you need to be very fast to get some mercs. (sorry guys that i take your mercs because i'm faster)
Not if I'm buying them you don't!
Since mercs are limited to the amount of trained forces we have - it would seems sensible to increase the numbers available - but the link between mercs amd trained troops would have to be fortified to stop any loopholes.
For example, someone could train up 100k of troops, and dependent on their tech upgrade, this might allow them to buy 50k of mercs say. They buy 50k of mercs and then untrain 50k of their trained forces. Currently they would retain the mercs - but this is now at 100% equivalent of their trained forces.
To avoid this happening, some sort of code can be put together so that if trained troops are reduced in this way after buying mercs, then the number of mercs would also reduce - as they have deserted due to the realm not being able to control them any longer.
There would have to be some sort of flexibility built in - to make sure that troops lost through battle damage do not affect the number of mercs (although more mercs would probably be killed than trained troops), unless of course the player did not retrain troops to replace the lost troops, so once it falls below a certain limit (90% / 95% of trained troops) then mercs begin to desert.
Mercs who desert would then be added to the merc market.

I seem to have come up with a way to deal with this merc problem: Individual Markets. If we abolish the current Merc Market and initiate Individual Markets, then the entire Merc problems can go away as Supply vs Demand. All that needs to be done it give the option for people to sell their trained units as mercs...
