Fleets vanished?

So i've been out of the loop for quite a while and i read the changelog to make sure but i haven't found a gameplay mechanic that could explain why my fleets (23000) vanished after i took a planet with no defenses
[spoiler]The planets defences were completely obliterated during battle.
Archeological digs by your scientists report 0 distinct cultural layers...interesting.
4762 Unit Production facilities were also destroyed.

Your Fleet strength went from 105,196 to 105,196. This amount is directly related to the fire power on the planet.[/spoiler]

unless the fleets are unavailable during the 24hrs, but the hangars are empty and i can buy more fleets... weird.

I'm guessing you also did some attacking, fleets take damage very quickly so 5 or 6 attacks without repairing and boom, all dead.

well, i've been repairing every attack burst so as to avoid that but i guess is possible i attacked one too many. thanks.

go through your attack logs during the period when you had them armed and you can see in the report when they were there and when they disappeared

that will confirm whether you lost them in battle or if there is a bug.

yeah, i tested another set of fleets and they do indeed last about 5-6 attacks before poofing.
Considering that and the steady decay of MS strength before plateauing for another 10 attacks i'd say i overtaxed them. Like i said i generally burst and repair but seems like i slipped. Thanks again.
