I'm suggesting a new type of covert mission. I'm sure a lot of you agree that it's really frustrating that you can't see enemy dmu and planets on the rankings. This new covert mission will be like a normal spy mission, but upon success, 5% of your operatives are left behind. They will have to keep a low profile so they will only be able to send you general intel. On the ranks you will be able to see the infiltrated player's dmu and planets, for as long as the spies remain undetected.
In addition, every player will get a button that lets them search their ranks for infiltrators. This will cost 15 turns and will root out and kill any infiltrators regardless of their skill. Or maybe it will match your covert to the power of the 5% that remained. If it's greater, they die. If not, you will not know they are there. (Problem with this may be infiltration by multiple players) If there are no infiltrators, you lose the 15 turns anyway.
This mission will let you keep track of certain players for a longer time without having to resend your spies all the time. Hopefully, that will make it easier to attack more frequently.

Planting operatives

As soon as you build an idiot proof system, somebody else builds a better idiot.
If it moves, kill it. If it doesn't move, kick it until it does move, and then kill it.

5% of what you send. Or maybe less, it was just an example number. It just irks me that because no one can see anyone in the rankings, everyone keeps pumping up their covert, essentially accomplishing nothing. Maybe just lowering the thresholds for seeing dmu and planets would be an option. I've got a feeling that because people can't see, they don't attack, they don't spy and they don't bring about any WARS. Ascension is basically turning into a defence and covert building game (even more than main). No one bothers with strike anymore, as witnessed by the ease with which I got a top 25 strike.
