i had bought a mothership and then they did the update stuff today and it dissapeared. so, i sold some of my weapons to puirchase a new one and i was wondering when i upgraded my ship a little, do the stats from my mothership help my defence stats for when someone attacks me?

your MS will contribute to both def and offensive attacks on ground forces only if your MS is a lot stronger than the other MS.

Just remember that no matter how strong your M/S is, it will only be able to double your Strike/Defense. I.e. if you have 60mill Def, and a 4bill M/S you will only do around 120mill.
When fighting other M/S this doesn't come into play, unless in the rare instace you are able to completly get past the enemy M/S. In which case the rule does come into effect.
So, you would do maybe 5bill damage to an enemy M/S 1 bill would get past, and you would add 60mill to your 60mill def/off
