I have a pretty decent attack in Ascension, but whenever I try to attack down (which is really the only stats I can see for the most part, I always lose.
I realize that when you attackd own the ranks, to make it fair for the lower players, they have some sort of defence boost, but its a little too high.
I have attacked people with a defence half that of my strike, and when I attack, I lose, and I lose alot of troops, and I lose Command Star weapons.
Can the rank modifier please be reajusted so that you can actually win an attack against low ranked players who doesnt play the game, and doesnt have a very high defence.
Rank modifier should be looked into..

I totally agree, it might seem I am harping on about it but we should encourage people to attack each other not put barrier after barrier hampering attacks.
Remove the rank modifiers all together, people cant buying turns to mass low members so turns need to be used wisely, if you waste them on someone then you cant use them on someone else
Encourage attacking and Ascention server might get a bit of life breathed into it

Just lower the naq/planet hiding threshold. If people can see other peoples dmu/planets, they will be tempted to spy, and attack if they can win. If you don't know what's around you, smashing targets at random is just too risky, and you're better of building up your own realm, and just turtling it out. I feel no need to attack someone 300 ranks below me, with 2M in the open, even if there was no rank modifier. What I want is to see what my peers have lying about that I can use. Just stop the covert craze.

If a change is done to the covert, it can't be too drastic. The reason that less is seen for "free" is to counter balance the lack of a bank.
If you want to know what someone has out, spy on them, but be ready for heavy losses if your covert isn't high enough. I've also noticed players doing 1 turn attacks to find out how much naq/defence another player has, and in order to avoid any spy losses.
Actually its something I enjoy personnaly. In main you always know if your spys are going to succeed, in ascension there's always that risk.

As long as there is no descension I'll agree.
I will play a bit of devil's advocate though and suggest that part of the motivation for implementing the modifier wasn't to prevent people from stealing DMU from lower ranked players but rather to discourage high rank players from descending lower rank players on a whim given the costs of ascending.
Maybe the modifier can be altered to only work a certain types of attacks pertaining to descension and remove it for raiding and DMU attacks.
