Introduction

The Book Of Origin is the so called "bible" of the Ori. The Ori are a race of entities (Ancients) who lived millions of years ago together with the Alterans as one civilization. The Ori started to believe that ascension was possible through the worship, while the Alterans believed in technology. As the Ori started to demand worship from of mortal beings, a rift was created between the two races and the Alterans left for the Milky Way.


The Book of Origin

The Book of Origin is a religious text of the Origin faith, printed in Ancient. The book is an assemblage of parables and passages that the common man can relate to and live by. All topics tend to lean toward meditation on one's own significance and the path of righteousness towards a state of higher being.

Life and death, light and darkness, hope and despair. The rift was created, and on that day, the Ori were born.


“Hallowed are the Ori”

The Ori found a desolate place, which hold nothing and was nothing. From this nothing, the Ori created the first ray of light. From this ray of light the first sun’s were born, and the ski became a place of hope.

“Hallowed are the Ori”

Then when there were enough sun’s in the sky, the Ori created the worlds. The Ori placed these worlds in the ski, side by side the sun’s.

With the suns and the worlds in the sky, the Ori gave life to the children and placed them on these worlds. There the children could live and prosper side by side.

The life and betrayal of Amica

For many years the children and the Ori lived in peace until one day a baby boy was born in the village of Anatouk.

"Hallowed are the children of the Ori."

His parents, Ellefarn and Menout were extremely delighted with the birth of the first born. They named him Amica. It was a pearl of a baby, healthy and strong. Menout pondered many days by the side of the crib, wondering and hoping if his baby son would grow up and be a strong man, that follows the path of rightness and devote his time to the Ori, or even better become a Prior.

As Amica grown up, he was a sweet boy; he was a faitfull learner and muched loved. He had many friends and was well liked in the village for his helping hand. Although he never took interest in becoming a Prior, he devoted much of his time to worship the Ori. every day he went to the temple, and sat side by side the priors, learning as much as he could. The prior of the village like Amica and saw great potenial in the boy.

One of the lessions the prior tought Amica was "Those who follow the path of righteousness shall be raised up high." and Amica followed.

Then one day when Amica was 19 moon's old. The villagers welcomed a stranger in, as they would know no fear and only had warm welcome to share.

Enlightenment

They gave the stranger shelter, they shared water and food. But the stranger had other plans. One night the stranger told Amica, that the fathers of the light were mere tails and served no purpose. That he have seen that they are as mortal as he was and that in times of need the Ori will turn there back to us. Amica was shocked and could not sleep that evening. The next day he went back to the prior and told him about the stranger and his story.

The prior told him the story of a young man that went looking for Celestus and could not find it. The young man got angry that he could not find the city of the Ori, and therefore straight of the path of enlightenment. The young man was so angry with the Ori, that when he was shown the city by his prior, he ridicule the prior and told him that what he saw were al lies.

He was then shown the eternal flame of Celestus and the Ori took him by his feat and threw him in to the dark corners of Avernakis.

Amica went to see the stranger and asked him about the story of the young man and his quest. The stranger then took out a tablet made out of crystal. When the stranger touched the table, figures and images rose out of the crystal. Amica was shocked and fascinated at the same time. He never seen anything like it before, it was so beautiful. Then a man appeared on the tablet, he was alone and did not walk very well. He wore clothes that Amica had never seen, the man was beautifully dressed, but looked wounded. A prior walked towards the wounded man. Amica was fascinated. When the prior came close to the man, the prior took his staff and touched the man with the end of his staff. The man started too screamed in pain and seconds later went up in flames. Amica was shocked and sickened at the same time. "This, my young man" the stranger said, is the work of the prior. "He never had any intension to heal the man" the stranger continued. "The prior does not care about you or us". Amica stared at the man and shouted; "Yes he does, the prior and the Ori, Hallowed are the Ori' all care about us!'". Amica shouted "You are evil, your showing me these false images!!". Then the picture on the tablet changed and another man appeared. Amica did at first not recognise him, but then to his great unbelief he saw that that man was him. He was lying on its side, in strange clothing that looked like that of a lizard skin, with a staff by its side. Amica looked closer and saw that he was wounded on his left side. Thene a prior came down the mountain towards the older Amica. When he reached Amica, the prior bended down and words started to role down his lips. As soon as Amica realised what they words meant he was stunned with silence. The prior said that Amica had betrayed his village and his people but worse of all, he betrayed the Ori. Then the prior took his staff and touched the older Amica and the flames burned bright around him wile the prior turned around and walked back up the mountain.

Amica was breathless and could not believe his senses, his eyes and ears. He was numbed and stunt and stood there staring at the flames that danced on the top of the tablet. Then Amica told the stranger, "I don’t even know your name?" The stranger replied, "my name is Humoteus, welcome to the cause".

That night Amica waited until his parents went to sleep, took his belongings an step outside the house. He had promised Humoteus, to meet him outside the village near the old oak.

Yes and right now I am looking at a Donut and a Mobius strip, and I know that they exist...and that they are quite cool.

I don't believe I have seen an Ori that can have the same type of geometric and topological properties that the above two have...being that they are energy and are kind of glowy and transparent...the latter possible explaining their single-minded obsession with prostration.

Prostration does have its value...if you need some sleep it helps to be at something that dull and boring, although I would much prefer watching some Hockey or Baseball if I need sleep.

Have you watched 2001 Space Oddysey? The computer goes insane and tries to calm the lead character "Dave" down (so he doesn't shut down the computer) by saying "why don't you take a stress pill dave". It's funny if you've seen the movie.
