I am inclined to help people with as much knowledge as possible to ascend. If the public forums will not provide it then alliances with people who help.

Currently the majority of players do not think ascending is worth the effort. That is quite obvious reading the forums over the last couple of months. As far as marketing the ascended server to get more people to play a horrible job has been done. In the end that is going to reduce the fun we have because of a lack of player.

I believe you are right. Most gamers get rather attached to their character or account. To see it basically destroyed sends panic through them, which leads to requests to spend G&R points on something that costs them nothing

Maybe openning up posting on main about the Ascended server is not the answer. But something should be done to make people see that it is worth it to Ascend. When I ascended for the first time today it was more of a trip then watching my defense get destroyed while being massed.

I have a suggestion as to what we could do with the G&R points... But I don't think people will like it.


If the two accounts, ascension and main were both linked a little better, then I think it would be cool to have the option of "cashing in" your G&R points to the Ascended server, without having to reset your Main account, so if you were keen on doing well in ascension, you would have a better insentive to do well in main.

If we could go to our Power Up page at anytime and see how many points we could get for "cashing in", then we would go back to main, and try and better our stats, ranks and spy levels to try and improve the overall cash in benifit.

That way you wouldn't have to reset your account, and you wouldn't have to start again from scratch(which is time consuming to say the least unless you are the amazing EtL with his amazing ascension skillzzz).

To make it fair on those who have already ascended, we could add the option of Ascending the old fashion way, in which you lose everything, but you gain the bonuses like normal.
And if you "cash in" your G&R points to your ascended account, without re-ascended per se', then you do not get the bonus in your main account.

Just a suggestion... put the stakes down people!

Well, the main thing that has made ascending kinda pointless for the main game is that it was meant to make people work hard to rebuild after a ascension and give others a chance to gain ranking.

This is not the case.

I think that talking about what you get in main for ascending is not a big deal at all. Most of it is known already and to me it is better to give them fact instead of letting them hear rumors and possibly getting screwed.

I vote open discussion on Shell Accounts, for they are Main-server based and (at the moment) have little if anything to do with the Ascended server at all. They are essentially four "advanced" races that reward players for hardwork. Why should that be so secretive? Pride? You have the word Prior (or any of its follow-ons) after your name to signify your skill. It is common knowledge that you get a 5% boost for each Ascension up to your sixth and so on. Does someone possess some sort of "make everyone who hasn't Ascended forget what they know" device (no doubt of Ancient origin, heh)?

Talk about the Ascended server I agree should be limited - maybe not eliminated entirely (people work well when they can see a reward at the end of the path). Anything more in-depth than "Ascension Power Points will give you a good start" should probably be censored (not out-right deleted though, unless it's really going over the top). Limiting the talk on the Ascended Server itself will preserve the mystery that everyone seems so attached to. Different to Shell Accounts, there are many things in here that are quite hard to grasp fully until you do actually Ascend, so limiting the talk (or yes, banning it if you really must) will do its job, unlike Shell Accounts.

A final note. Enforcing a blanket ban may be slightly easier than censoring/deleting topics based on content, but ultimately I don't think it will solve much. If someone wants an in-depth guide on Ascension or helpful tips then it is easy enough to find. I for one had a copy of the Ascension transcript saved in a word document from the day that Ascension went live, and was easily able to ask other players anything else I needed to get a good start. When my time came to Ascend, I knew everything I needed to in order to get the most out of my Shell and my Ascensed accounts. If I can do it, so can anyone else. I think it's a little late to suddenly say "Ascension topics are all taboo". It will just irritate people and slow down those with determination (who will be the ones to Ascend anyway).

That's not a bad idea actually. Glory Points don't provide all that many Power Points... so it's not going to be game breaking, but it is another reason to gun for Rank 1.

the way I see it is that the information is out there for anyone to obtain anyway... as has already been pointed out, players do actualy speak to each other

I also think that it would improve the ascended server if peeps could see and hear how good it is, instead of only hearing that there is not much happens atm because there are not that many who play... a lot of peeps that have ascended do not play their accounts and only ascended in the first place for the bonus's you receive on main..

Ascension serbver is in urgent need of more active players and I think full disclosure would help to attract those players..

Outlaw it, it spoils the fun knowing whats going to happen when you ascend, it's like somebody telling you what happens at the end of Final Fantasy X ( i sold it once the dude told me i was devastated, 29 hours of play and he ruined the ending, needless to say he can never play any online game again without me hunting him ) but anyway why ruin the fun of the mystic 1001 G+R points

Maybe a help/user guide when you get up there would be good too. I know of alot of people who have ascended, and still have no idea of what the hell is going on when they get up there. Its all very complicated and hard to adjust to if you are expecting something resembling Main in the slightests.

All that aside. I think I would have rathered know more about just what I was getting myself into before I took the plunge and ascended. I didn't consider all my options because I didn't know there were actually options to consider. That aside, I think most people are well aware now that they have the choice of leaving some of their goods behind... but still. Give them some info. They deserve it after all the hard work they have put into their main accounts.

I knew that much going in, that what you didnt keep squirled away for main went to your ascended account.

However, I choose to not use my resources for ascended, as I had no intention to seriously play asencion, but mainly to boost my main account.
