This is nothing knew - because if people employed this simple observation prior to the trade broker being introduced, then less scams would have occurred.
I keep saying this - scamming isn't cheating - and in 99% of cases people are scammed by people they do not know or who do not have a (good) trade feedback thread. The obvious exception to this is the recent episode with Esker - but what do you expect from a Goa'uld??
If it matters that much, then insist, if it is UU that you are trading, that they are the one that initiates the trade - that way you are the one that accepts/rejects the deal and your UU will only be in the open if and when you reject it! If they are unwilling to initiate the trade then that should make you suspicious straight away.
Final word - scams occur because people are not careful who they trade with - and if you choose to not be careful who you trade with, then you are taking the risk on yourself.
