I believe that it has also reduced the over-effect that covert has on rank - which can only be a good thing (and has been done before) as it balances out the rankings more.

you can but ill keep saying theres no ballance any where in anything. why try to balance something when there aint no balance give me the code and it would be running faster and easier and maybe better. also theres no rhyme to reason on this.

No, definately not so much discontent. But then, I also don't remember ranks being messed up when that happened. It seemed to just happen in a blink. And now, I'm not complaining about the issues today...Things happen and nothing's perfect. But I'm just saying that it might have something to do with it.

Ranks did change last time - but the difference this time is that not everyone was affected at the same time - Forum has implemented the change in parts - i.e. for a long time, those accounts in vacation mode were not affected - therefore the change appeared to be more drastic than it actually was.

im sorry if im comming off as an ass hole. if forum is doing this to reduce server load then he need to take a good **Filtered** look at how the games built. ie limiting the ammount of queries done when a page loads. imo what he is doing is a ban-aid instead of looking at the source of the problem. its how the total rankings are calculated that needs balanceing not balancing covert.

I like the new covert update, it sort of evens out the stat page look. And it reorganized the covert, Anti-covert thing, so it doesn't look like it was slapped on at the end. Then again, this is comming from someone who can see everyone except the top 5

everyone should be updated in cov/anti cov ranks by now.
if not what is your ID and i'll see why not ....
as for why this was done, it is not server load or anything like that.
it is to balance covert with the other scores/ranks. help alliance power be meaningful. etc.
as well - there is a limit at a few hundred trillion where the database and the web page stop talking the same language and it's a bit of a hassle to convert, so i figured i'd balance instead of continually converting between the 2 ways of they each express big numbers ...

and to whoever said nothing was balanced, that you could do better, that i do not know what i am doing, blah blah blah... what's your game url?

My covert dropped down to somewhere around 5.5 billion. I'm not mad about the update. It makes defense, attack, m/s on par with covert. It should be interesting to see what alliances were hiding behind covert, and which ones weren't.
