now alliance and commander rank measure rank, not just covert.

now your calculator does not need trillions to be input.

the actual effect is basicly nothing on personal ranks, since it affected everyone (ok could have affected everyone a bit quicker or at once, but the minute you used covert, it updated all parties involved) equally

the biggest effect is you can now see a bit higher up the (covert) ranks without getting ???

would it be the same statement if i divided the old score by 100 ?

"i hate it" is all fine and dandy, but since i cannot really see a 'real' effect of the change outside alliance/commander rank, and you give no reasoning, i'll assume its cosmetic and you just like seeing big numbers...

As I have mentioned in another topic on this subject I am strongly against the latest covert changes.

Someone actually emailed you insulting your mother....omg, people...get a friggin life. as for the "surprise" factor....frankly, it's fun watching people freak out haha.

Personally i freaked out for a few seconds i thought i got a/c massed but i saw same number of spies so yeah, then i noticed the update text

Quite true - and why should Forum inform us of everything - it has not been past policy, so why should it be now. If a change is introduced and it is discussed with constructive criticsm, rather than 'my rank has dropped - this sucks!) then complaints will be listened to (take the first introduction of raid for example) - but in this case - all of the complaints were unsubstantiated.

To be honest I have watched these two particular threads grow with a sense of amusement and frustration - funnily enough, both for exactly the same reasons - because people jump to conclusions and panic, do not read what they are being told, and worry only about their own accounts rather than the overall good of the game!

Last night I was telling people until I was blue in the face why these changes were being made - and that relatively it did not affect anybody's covert.

Okay - it has affected things such as Alliance Rankings - but that is a good thing as it is meaning that the rankings are more balanced on covert/strike/defence - rather than the covert only alliances dominating the rankings - surely this is a good thing?

A few people may still have problems (Lord Talos - Forum has stated you should contact him if you believe your account is not correct for some reason) - but on the whole I believe that once things have settled down, people will realise that it will not have affected their accounts that much and that it was a good update for the game.

I think a big round of applause to Forum!

just a few things. i usually dont have many spies, cos i rather the miners, so this has lost me 50 places, and when you were about 100th, that is a lot.

its because spies are now high value, relatively speaking. it will return to normal over time


however, i have been asking for this change since about october. covert power was the measure of alliance power. now its more fairly based, and having an alliance with more people now actually has an effect, or more effect. the reason why i was asking for this change was when i finished quantum in the top 10, i was 95% of the alliance power. we had other people in the top 50, and they didnt even count basically.

now they do. also, you could have 100b strike, and be able to mass anyone in the game basically. this is "power" but it didnt count to alliance power. 200 b def is power, cos you are basically unfarmable, making it easier to get spy levels for your alliance. this also didnt count. dumping 200b naq into a ms did nothing for alliance power, but it could have destroyed a 150b ms, again, this is power. now all this counts.

this is only befineting thoes that have a large army. not thoes that are small in size.

umm, for most people in this game, army size IS rank. it isnt hard to be ranked top 100 (for me at least), but getting the top 100 army is MUCH harder, because most of the top people realise rank is a waste of naq, and army size is the one thing that will keep you ahead in this game long term. metal is acknowledged to be the strongest person in this game (although this is disputed by quite a few people), although he is not even ranked in the top 50. etl is also in this position. he might not be top 100, but his army mean he can be top 10 within 2 days if he wanted to.

the only problem i have with this, is the simple fact over time, covert will again outstrip the other stats, especially ms, and will further need to be shaped back, but i cant see that happening for at least another 9 months, due to the fact level 29 covert cost 1.6t naq, and alliance power isnt purely based on covert now, so people have less reason to max it.

i think ms may need to be shapped ahead in the future, but thats not for me to decide.

oh, and thankyou forum for producing a much more accurate system for alliance rankings. now we know just who are really powerful and who were buying millions of spies to fake power, because they could not really use that power.

as for the people who think spies are worth more now, yes they are. however, like always, the blokes with the better levels will outstrip you. how else do explain the fact that i only have 200k spies, yet have top 150 covert still, when i notice people who would be ranked around 500th with 500k spies. although they will get a boost now, it will idsappear, and the extra naq im getting from the uu will put me ahead again.

ADMIN keep up the good work.
it's a good and smart update.now the real strong alliance's will be at the top.not the one's with the highest covert.
so alliance powers is going to be depending on every single member.not on 1 guy with a big covert.

The thing that upsets me the most is that not to long ago I ponied up for another spy level. Now, come to find out that I wasted that naq and should have spent it on obtaining more units instead. I lost over 20 covert places just because my spy level with 250k spies is less power than a spy level lower and 500k spies. Had of known this earlier, I could have spent naq on turns to raid with, and been WAAAY ahead of that extra 250k in army size.

Spy level should be changed back so they STILL count as much as they did before. The rebalancing part itself isn't what's bothering people, it's the fact that people that went for a higher spy level and less spies are getting hosed hardcore right now.

Seriously. The whole Sqrt(2^x) ruins it. Your number of spies just became SqRt(2^(Your Spy Level - Enemy Spy Level)) times more important.

I was kinda surprised when I seen that both my coverts were down, but when I seen I was the same rank, i knew it was ok. No biggy Thanks admin. At least now we know who the truely powerful alliances are. Now nobody can take the ''EDIT:easy'' way to the top. Go Heavens Warriors. Yeah!!!

We may still be at the same rank but now everyone’s covert power is to similar.
Equality is good but it can also ruin things.
