Something new :D

I am posting this, after realising that the once hard to afford Mothership is now common place. When they first came out, I remember not being able to afford one :) Now though, they are a few farms for even the newest noob.

So, I propose something that costs alot of naq, so at first, only the higher players can afford it...

A space station...Which, would to the following...

1. Reduce the costs of repairs and weps to your mothership.

2. Increase def, as you upgrade. (another layer of def against incoming motherships)

3. Produces "robotic miners" to mine astroids( yes, another UP type upgrade but for your space station)

4. These robots, could then be used to various tasks such as repairing your mothership. Say if you have a given number of robots, it'll take such and such time to replace destroyed weps, WITHOUT costing you any naq. :D

Let me know, i'm sure some will hate it. some will like it.

But ever since they changed to miners/lifers, alot of naq is laying around out there. Motherships are now common place, and I miss the struggle to buy one. This, would add alot to gameplay, and ummm the "rush" would be funny to watch :D.

So a little bit of memory lane, but I sold UU to buy my MS. A crap load of UU. Now it costs what like 2k to buy a MS if selling UU? This thing has to be one of those things that says "I have a crap load of naq to spend." I personally love the idea.

also, we can't just raise the price of the MS, because it wouldn't be fair to all those who don't have one. Hence, why i think something new would work best.

Well, it may be easier to get a mothership now, but you forget that it still takes a boatload of naq to get a GOOD mothership. I don't really see where this is needed myself.

actually all that can be done over time. Where the mothership required a massive purchase. This would also add something "new" to the game. I dunno, maybe it's just me. But I remember the rush, and yes it takes naq to build up your ship. But it would throw another layer into the mix and rankings. Another challenge if you will :D.

I remember the 450 million it took to buy that mothership. I saved for almost 3-4 weeks just to BUY it. And then I had to buy all the accoutrements...and that took forever as well.

But today's newby can get one handed to them for practically no effort or work at all. Even back when I bought one, such a *gift* from your commander was hardly ever heard of, as they too had to store money for about a week before purchase.

I think this idea is noteworthy in that it not only adds another layer for rank; but it adds income, defense, and repairs on a previously unheard of level. This would definitely give the older player something to work for.

It would have to be expensive, but that too could be modulated in such a way that middle level players could slowly achieve the basic station. For example, all stations start with the skeleton. Then you have the exterior, and the interior. Then you have the workers and/or the robotic element as the base crew. This kind of leveling would instill the chase while keeping the ultimate goal slightly out of reach.

And the possibilities are endless when you consider the repair bots, etc. Not to mention the possibilities for fending off the conquering foe.

Well,
even now it is impossible for new players to catch up to some of the most powerful players with 15-20 mil army size and as I understand it, one has reached about 50 mil army.

This new feature would only benefit the top players atm. And IMO we need something to benefit new players first.

Why? Like many have said before, a game like this won't survive without new users. And they will just give up on the game if there is no point in playing... so I think Forum will have to start thinking about a new system to help new users. There are many ways to do that.

maybe cost of mothership should be increased...
but all players refunded for everything they spent on it so everyone has the same terms.
P.S. edit the title before wolfy sees it :-D

i like everything except the uu part of it, other then that its great

also i think you should be able to buy one super weapon for the space station that costs a lot of naq but say adds 1 bil power (you only get one though)

AH Its so refreshing to see something suggested that doesnt include, ppt or g&r. this is a great idea. we've seen goauld space stations, replicators could have ones the build, this would be great and yeah if really high priced could moved a few players around in terms of ranks, speaking of ranks where would the fit in? as part of m/s like covert and anti covert are?

Hmm, i don't know how best to fit it in. Maybe a seperate part (Orbital Def Space Station) (International Space Station) hehe.

i think whatever it is , it should cost whatever a 5 multiple market turn costs..........that would make it expensive

so that would mean 10 billion or so with current market

I can only see this increasing the gap between the strong and the weak, and making it still harder for new players to catch up and be competitive.

in a game where one gathers resources over time..........how do u expect a person can catch up to a player gathering resources for a year before they start...........any new stat may widen the gap but new things have to be added to game over time otherwise it gets to boring
