how does it sort the alliances
how does it sort the alliances in "Join an alliance" on th command screen

I've assumed they were by date. Iow: Most recent submision takes top spot. But it's been awile and I don't recall ever doing any research.
To find out for sure, simply run the names through the 'list of alliances' and record each's power.
If the most powerfull is in the top spot and the second most powerfull is in the second, while third in the third then we will know that it is based on power.

I know what he means, I think...
When you hit the "List of Alliances" link from the command center you get an odd list:
sg1 - 1 member and no power
Darsvengeance - 322 members and over 493 bil power
and so forth
You can sort by reasonable criteria across the top - power, member count etc.
The weird thing is that if you click "Alliance Name" for sort - it reverses the sort and hitting it again puts it back. Somehow I guess it thinks it's sorting by name. Looking at the names though, I can't figure out how!
Just a weirdness.
