Good to know. Is there a dif. between a clan and an alliance? Could you be a member of both a clan and an alliance?

personally i have no clue.
i think clans are smaller and more peaceful than big waring alliances.

no, its the exact same thing the only differnce is semantics, youy can only be parte of one alliance/clan

yah i guess, but i find that clans are smaller than alliances.

I read in a post somewhere that mercenaries serve no purpose but to make your army look bigger but could someone explain what they are and how to get them.

Untrained mercs do nothing. Trained merc are about equal to lesser trained troops and do require weapons. You go to the market -> mercenaries market place (toward top, close to private trade broker)

nope. you can only buy one mothership. the option to buy is at the top of the armory menu
