PPT Limitations

So if this is going nowhere how about a change to how to limit this. Like if you are the aggressor in an attacking or sabbing someone you cannot go out on PPT or into vacation mode for 24 hours?

Maybe I am off for the length of time, but if you start a fight you need to be exposed to danger for a while.

I thought of this too, but then realized there is one problem with it. It means you couldn't really farm anyone. Seems like a big penalty to pay if you farm an inactive account. Perhaps, if you have to wait 24 hours from when you declare war on someone. Or some combo of the two.

Perhaps better is to have a minimum break between the time one can go on vacation mode from ppt or vice versa. That way you can still go on ppt 4 days a week but you still will be open for a day before you can go into vacation mode.

A variation would be 24 hours needed in between consecutive vacation mode/ ppt. Thus, one couldnt do any of them back to back. No ppt to ppt/no vacation mode to ppt/ no vac to vac without a break in between.

Farming is an act of war, in spite of those who argue differently. If you get your income from farming and you need 4 days of PPT then that means you have to do your farming in 2 days. So using the PPT is going to hamper you. That is one of the things sought.

Games that allow for people to attack others and then run and hide in a bubble do lose gamers. There is no chance for any kind of payback.

What you talk about is clearly going nowhere. But at least give us the chance for some paybacks. For those of you who want less PPT's I bet this would reduce them since you have to stop farming for 24 hours to go on PPT.

That's kind of why I prefer just having a delay between ppts/vac modes. Then you are still open for at least a day. It also doesn't detract from the game as much as the attack/declare war version, which would basically eliminate/severely hinder farming (which farming is a whole separate discussion in and of itself). What's the right way to go? I'm not totally sure, but I will agree something needs to be done, and I'll support whatever is done until it's proven to be worse than the current situation....

The two solutions to the ppt/vacation problem specifically involve limiting vacation to once or twice a month as you say, or limiting the use of ppt after a vacation to needing to wait an unspecified amount of time in between. Both of which are fair and would deal with it pretty effectively.

PPT's are another aspect of the game and i think they are a good idea, however vacation mode is not designed to be used tactically. Only to take a break from your account when you NEED it.

Try not to get off topic, vacation mode is totally different.

PPT needs to be limited, most of the people in the top 500 ranks or so are ALWAYS on ppt, in the past there was a bug that allowed 3 ppt's per week, meaning basically no limits to PPT, was this ever fixed?

people with skill dont use ppt unless they are going to be away for a long period of time or are at war with someone and like being protected , who are these stand up members of society *looks in the mirror* , seriosuly tho PPT is useful but if your one of the poeple who use it to protect your income , id suggest maybe increasign your defense, if you get farmed every few turns you have too much income and not enough defense, but PPTs are crucial to the game and they have already been limited alot, 4 days out of 7 is only just over half, its not a BIG protection, people can still be hit, the problem lies with people who vac all the time without needing it, they for example vac for 2 days and then go back on ppt, they could just use the ppt instead of the vac and be non-protcted when they are around, vac is the main problem, killign the joining of ppts and vacs would solve the problem, for example.

After Leaving PPT you will have to wait 24 hrs before taking a vacation
After leaving a PPT, you may go back onto a PPT assumign you have the availabilty inyour market to do so.
After Leaving Vacation mode you will have to wait 24 hrs before going onto a PPT
After leaving vacation mode you have to wait 24 hrs before you can go back onto vacation,
Vacation mode lasts a minimum of 48 hrs and will stay on vacation until the accoutn is logged onto (cant logon to it until afetr 48 hrs are passed)
PPT's can be cancelled anytime, and last a maximum of 48 hrs

This may effect the few on varrying occassions for real problems but the benefits of the many will outweigh these 0.1%

This will stop the vac abuse, no need to limit PPTs any other way than the ways i stated i.e not beign able to use one after a vac or go into vac afetr one before 24 hrs have passed.

That would be another reasonable solution. And I would use a bit different terms then 12ags. In my opinion market turns are better used most of the time for other trades on the market instead of just getting protection. If an account is having to use PPT all the time they are hampered. I know I hate using a MT for PPT, and only do it in one of the situations that was described.

That's $500 worth of PPT. Assuming the rate of buying PPT is constant since last Friday when the Omega/CFE war began, that is $1250. And that's not counting the PPTs of the other parties on both sides involved in this conflict and the nuetrals who just happen to need a PPT.

This server doesn't need that much money to function. There's no reason PPT can't be limited to 1 bonus a week. Limiting PPT would actually make more money for the server in the long run because ppl are now beginning to get tired of the PPT buyers and are quitting. If the server really does need that money, we should start the lost art of deleting accounts that are long dead so as to stop wasting server space.

I buy PPT for a few days protection/not having to worry about my account...

being quite a small-average sized player (1.5mill army) I like being able to store more in my bank for MT's etc and helping people in my alliance with spy levels...

the bonus's you get from the market supporter status... PPT is a side effect which stops people being able to attack you... which you can come off by spying on someone...

so you dont ahve to sit on it for 48 hours but you can if you dont want to attack/raid/spy on people and just want to keep yourself to yourself
