Making ascension more interesting.

you know, i hatge to day it, but right now the ascention server is much like the ascended realm in sg1 for seasons 1-8.5.


i like thge factions idea. you know it'd be need (folr the cross server stuff) to implement a worship function. it's be next to the make this user my commander button, and would only appear on shell accounts. and would have the matching ascended account gain bpnus energy stuff for the people who worship the shell.

I think that descension should be held off on until there are at least a couple thousand players there.

I do think that it would be nice if the covert modifer was reduced so you could actually see more of what was out in the open.

I think that the Cosmic Trade should be completed, it would add deepth to the game.

1) Get rid of names and identifing features. Make it impossible to know who you are attacking (unless you are really clued in on your friends stats etc), including stopping indentifiers being shown even in page source. For battle\covert logs, instead of a link to the player with name, you link to the player with a number that is unique to the account that is attacked, basically, the game gives every other account in the game a number or letter combination (which is different to every other account), and if that player attacks you, you get a link to the account via that specific combination only.

To prevent people from just telling their mate what rank they are, you could randomize the ranks shown, you only get told what "group" of maybe 10 or 20 players you are in, and you need to figure out where you are in that group with action and building!

Eventually, people might find out what number corresponds to which player for them (or people might try to subvert the system somehow, possibly with messages, might be wise to remove link from them or just stop them) because they attacked them or something. Maybe every so often randomise the numbers again.

2) Increase planetary growth, via the same method applied recently to Chaos Global Population Growth, ie lower you have it, the more you get for less money. This will enable a quicker growth by lower players. As well as that, increase growth in general. Comparing ascended to chaos or even main, the growth is turtle slow.

3) At least tell us what decension will do even if it's NOT implemented. People may be more inclined to attack if they know even if they anger someone in main, a few weeks later they won't be able to get their high rank mates to descend them.

IMO, decension should not be a account killing event, and yes, whilst bad, it should not have a massive effect on your character, and I think should'nt really effect your main account either (your physical realm won't forget how to make ascended weapons, won't forget the knowledge given that improves their abilities ie the 5,10,15,20,25 etc bonuses, and won't forget what to do to make you have to pay for banking again), I certainly don't think it should boot you out of the ascended server completely, or turn your main account back into a tauri or whatever.

4) Tied in with the "no names" feature, add in chaos style race support, so you get "factions" based on the races like in SG-1 style ascension. Group players together in a few smaller groups, so they can attack other groups, and then the races as a whole attacks each other. This might be less workable, especially if messages are prohibited and people don't know who anyone is.

If of these are done, I'm certain ascension will pick up again, people will not have a fear of decension so bad that they stop attacking, people can't have massive alliances attack them, decension will not be something that players fear so much they won't want to attack, growth and rebuilding is fast, and people will have to look after themselves completely, they won't be able to relay on bigger alliances friends backing them up.

Other ideas:

Basically, it needs to be made faster, and give people more reason to attack. Lowering defence, increase DMU made, increasing planetary growth can all help people to want to attack.

Basically, you make the game lone wolf based, and then add in an element of pack mentality.

For the aussies, you may be familiar with "State of Origin" rugby league, where the best players born QLD go against the best born NSW, regardless of what team they play for and where they live, the players give the very best efforts, it's called "State Against State, Mate Against Mate" and even friends and teammates become bitter enemies in the games.

What i'm getting at, in ascension, even the number one alliances Leader and 2nd in Command might be best of friends in main\rl whatever, but in ascension, they can be bitter enemies.

And leave the "no PPT" thing the way it is.

I think we shouldn't have descension. You should be able to die though. So say someone else kills you, you die (duh) and come back in ??? days. Could me a modifier. Like: leftover attack power/48=how many days dead

Heck, I'd like to see commanders, race leaders and alliances as well as a way to steal energy from others.

I'm not interested in deascension as it would make ascending prohibitive unless Main didn't get reset when you ascended. Think about it. You ascend, you lose all your main resources, you struggle to understand the new server for a few days, and someone obliterates you and you lose everything. Real fun there.
