I have been boosting the stats on a defense planet to see what it is like...

after 1.5 bil naq spent, I now have a planet that gives me + 24,525,000 Defence.

To compare, 1.5 bil naq would give me ~9000 of the best weapons which would provide a 274 million defense.

the planet now costs 3.2 mil/upgrade, each upgrade providing 25,000 def bonus to my stats. in comparison, each weapon I buy costs me 167,800 naq and provides me with a bonus of 30,735 defense. As you can see, it costs me TWENTY TIMES as much to get an equivalent defense out of my planet.

Currently each upgrade increases my def by 25k and the upgrade increases in price by 3k each upgrade. that means that by the time I get to 1 billion defense, it will be costing me 100 million naq for a bonus of 25k defense. that's just unbelievable.

I will not be investing in any more defense planets unless and until the price is (1) made equivalent to upgrading my defense with mercs and best weapons (I am willing to pay up to twice what it normally costs) and (2) allows me to add at LEAST one billion to my defense before it becomes too expensive to upgrade further.

As a final warning, anybody who steals my planet will have to pay me 30 billion naq or have their account destroyed, as that is how much i've paid to upgrade this planet to the point where it gives me an additional 25 million defense and make it so it won't be stolen by 90% of the people who have stolen my other planets already.

also keep in mind that

(1) the planet's defenses are completely destroyed when stolen, and
(2) most of the planet's upgrades are also destroyed at the same time.

this rapid stealing of planets isn't making them worth more, it's making them worth less, yes, they are already worthless but incredibly their value is going down even now! The only way this can be stopped is by making most of the planetary upgrades remain intact when they are stolen - perhaps being inoperative for 24 hours so whoever bought them can have a chance to steal it back.

But usually I can't find a planet that's been stolen from me, because it was stolen from whoever stole it from me! so i request that in the attack logs, you be able to click on the name of your planet and get an attack screen to steal it back, no matter who has it now. That will allow people to find their planets again instead of the **Filtered** that's going on now where I can't get my planet back no matter how hard I try.

I'am bringing this fact IN TO this topic, s

Forum the idea is that the fleet is incresingly hard to add hangers, so is limited in a sense. and cost of fleet is fllet+hanger; planet is just def (plus size upgrade).
well it looked good on paper Smile
but, since you have 10 planets; 1 fleet... you got you 10x the power of defensive structures .... now 3M per.

So this means if i put 1.5 bill on each planet and i have all 10 planets that my total system defence is 1.5x10, meaning i can stop most attackers. However currently the planet defence don't work together. So If you could explain this, that would be great thank, any body else feal free to comment it's not like saying don't post would stop you. :-D

What I don't undersatnd is why a planet is giving you bonuses in another area then it was suposed to. Each planet gives you 3 mil strike ..... even if you have only UP and income planets ..... what's the ideea behind this ???

It's very annoying cause because of this is now much more difficult to drop rank. Why doesn't each planet type provide bonus only in that area it should : only attack, only defense, only covert, only UP, only income.

What does a planet do?
Planets have defences that can be built upon them to protect them (and destroy enemy fleets), as well as at least one (and at most one right now) productivity gain. It might be attack, defence, UP, income or covert. This is 'tacked on' to your appropriate scores, does not get bonuses based on race or such, and 'what you see is what you get'

what ever happened to that?

Not quite true, the problem is planets come in all sorts as far as i can tell. Some are defense boosters, some attack, some covert and some UP. I picked up a covert one, upgraded it to a medium from small, bought 1 defense on it and quite a few covert/anti upgrades. What i noticed is the planet claims to only be giving me the starting amount of covert and Anti, not the correct upgraded amount, BUT that is only an error in the reporting in my planet page, when i checked how much i was ACTUALLY getting it was more, about what i would expect for the upgrades...

Also, when i went to train up my new troops i noticed i had a UP boost, i was getting 34 or 35 troops before the planet was found, now i am getting 37 or 38 even though it's a covert planet...

My guess is the problem with rank dropping is related to the player owning some defense or attack stat planets, these will add a base to your stats which cannot be removed and THAT can be a serious problem when trying to raid. Perhaps some way to stop planets like this adding the base to stats can be added, some way to turn them off for a while, hehe. That way people can still drop to raid like before and not feel they need to ditch the planet as it interfers with their playing style...

the answers no

there isnt a planet out there that is worth it

yes yes even the up planet

the cost of 5000 up on an up planet = 100,037,500,000

the cost of 5000 up ingame normal = 20,829,165,000

yer its the best planet out there but its still crap

add too that the cost of defending a planet with 5kup from the sharks :P
lets say ya spend 100bil on defence
something like (cant be arsed too do the math but) 7bil defence say

so ya got a planet worth 200bil
with 100bil worth of upgrades

now see how many fleets ya can get for 100bil and what power ya have

totaly wipes the floor with planet defences

so pointless is planets unless your Juan or metal cause nobody else can afford too build more defence than someone else can build fleets

the up planet can actually be a good investment if you'r up is about 10k.
then it's cheaper to upgrade the up planet and after that, start increasing yours and the planets up in tandem to pay the least naq.

i have a problem...can someone please explain to me the benefits of a planet to the small and midranked players who dont have billions of naq to invest in the defence of their planet?

chances are if a small or midranked player found say...a UP planet...he wont have it for than 24 hrs.

so as i say, can someone please explain this messed up logic to me :?

Well that argument applies to everything in the game. What good are Motherships to those that can not afford them? Or the Marketplace and SS status to those that have not yet earned it or can afford to buy on it?

If their planet is in the way of your massing them then can't it be stolen?
