yes i do , and most of the work thay do here in australia is in helping 3rd world countrys get their shyt together , and also thay do he 40hour famen" a fund raising event where ppl get sponcerd to go with out food for 40 hours with all money going to world visions childern funds, Thay also do sponcership of 3rd world childern so thay can go to school " u know the ones (for as little as a cup of coffee a day u can send a child to school}, "thats what thay meen by world vision" not helping your own ppl in your own country , i do not know of any progect that thay run here , "apart from the things i have mention above" . so what im am getting to is that the point of "WORLD VISION" here in australia it to help starving childern and getting kids to school in sted of workin at the age of 6 , what im trying to say is that it is a bit odd for WORLD VISION to do work in a developed country like the USA. the hole point is that its a world VISION not a WV vision, can u see where im coming from , and by the way , i am not a lil school kiddie ,

yes I can see were your comeing from This was once a big suject but a guy from World Vision once said something like we help in other contries but what about home were forgeting the ppl in USA.

there are alot of homeless in USA and we have sent a few ppl to work on homes and stuff that do not want to leave the contrie so we help ppl in USA as well. you would be surprised at the poor in USA that we have and WV is a poor state. shacks that you would not evan step into becouse of the oder and it looks like the roof is going to fall in.one of the projecects is in a part called Morgantown WV.
any ways its in a trailorpark but the main project is on a building called Storhouse of God. (ill call it SOG) The building where the Storehouse of God is located used to be an old coal mining facility where maintennance was performed on the coal cars. they have renovated this dilapidated building into a place where hurting people can come for help where they get toys/carpets/furneture/appliances to give to ppl from ppl

The organization called World Vision works throughout the world, including in the United States. I too am an adult and father. I have worked in ministry in third world countries. I have worked in ministry in the so-called first world as well.

A parent who is unable to provide for their children is just as desperate when surrounded by those who can. One of the screening processes of World Vision is that the family being helped is, in fact, doing what they can for themselves in their situation.

If you feel that World Vision should not be working in the United States because the need is greater elsewhere, fine. Your argument is with that organtization. I will, however, suggest two things. First, need is need - wherever you find it. Second, World Vision's work in poor communities in the United States not only provides basics needs to those who can not do so for themselves, it harnesses resources that can not be used elsewhere. There are many people who have a heart to do the work but are not able to travel overseas. Using these volunteers and materials provided for the work takes away from no one.

As to your semantic argument about Isaac's use of the word "work," I can only assume the word is used in a more restricted manner in your part of the world. In the United States the term "work" does not presume payment for that work. He could have been more specific by using the terminology "volunteer work," I suppose. Perhaps someone who have attacked him for bragging about not getting paid for his work then.

I think that his main point was simply that he was going on vacation more for something useful - not to hide from ineffective attacks on his account.

Good job, Isaac, in spending your time serving the needs of others - wherever those needs are found.
