I don't know if this has been suggested already but here goes.
It had the system lords and asgard council in so what if a galaxy map was introduced.
With the introduction of planets and mothership why not make it so every planet in the game is takable (Even homeworlds).
With Homeworlds being able to be taken it would mean people would have to restart as it would end their exsistance and clear out the inactives.
The map has every planet in it each planet is placed within the borders of its species. Then if you zoom in on a specific species you can see each charactor and his / her planets. Now this would directly affect the ratings Race and Power Stats section. Race leaders would need to be set up (EG. System Lords for the Goa'uld or Asgard High Council for the Asgard) and they are in charge of keeping their species in line.
However is say a Goa'uld decides he wants another Goa'ulds section of space you could see the two territories at war on the map (Dunno how but a way could be devised).
This would mean motherships that are the most powerful could take out the lesser Goa'ulds. Lesser Goa'ulds who want to divide th
I cannot explain this its all in my mind but I can't get it to reach my tongue but basically.
Map means you can have commanders for species.
See the expansion of various species.
Would look cool in my opinion.
You can have treaties written up which places various sectors under protection (Like ppt but it can be betrayed as it is a mix between the threat of a huge war and a bit of bluff etc).
I think I have explained this really badly but I tried.
Thanks for your time.

i wonder why people need grafics so badly, i mean id your in need of visual stimulents go to the temple of spam ishmecks always finding some funny video or random stargate fact.
also as for the idea(Sorry i didn't read much past your topic cause it has been resugested to much) if you want to draw out a map with 40,000 diferent stars each with a posibility of 10 planets, with a minimum of 1 for sure (40k cause i think were close to that) plus an extra 5000 systems casue this game keeps on increasing then mabey MABEY forum will look into it

Overall a wonderful idea, but as stated above, often repeated.
The sheer amount of coding required to pull something like this off, is near-on astronomical. I have some experience with it, (but wouldn't say I was all that good) and know that the amoutn required to pull it off for a possibility of 51,169 players total, with up to 11 planets (don't forget the home planet)brings it to a staggering total of some 562,859. Now are we going to have seperate images, or are we going to have the same texture for each planet and system? If so, then it would be easy, give everyone the same image (with only 11 variations, not including size variations). Now do you need it to be link to surrounding systems, if so, how do you define neibouring systems? by rank, name, size, power???
When it comes down to it, looking at it, it just gets harder and harder to not only calculate the possible variations required to suit everopne, but the sheer amount of space that it would also take up, not even mentioning the coding...
It is a great idea in theory, but unfortuantly it doesn't go much further...

iv heard this idea a couple of times and while it would be totally kool and all - the amounting of programming to go into it would be as said before Astranomical..
Its some thing i dnt EVER see happening in this game. Like i wouldnt mind a couple pictures here and there but im not really fussed.. I think the game is fine the way it is - and as long as we get a few updates every few months or soo im quite happy.
kodeos to the idea, but for sumthing like that u'd really hav to be paying monthly.. cause no one in their right mind would under take such a huge task unless they were getting paid a Whole lot to do it.

Also, it would ruin the fun of it. If you are strong and want to annihiliate an alliance that you are at war with (and their leader would be weak) the only thing you have to do to disband them is to take the homeworld of their leader.
Not to be talking about accounts of new players that are taken... and what about the techonologies of the race on the homeplanet?... are they integrated into the techonologies of the winner?...
