Assended Wars Linked with SGW

I have a suggestion for this. Since Main and Ascension are connected, how about, if you go on vacation mode in ascension, it put you on vacation mode in main, and vice versa. The same thing when one comes out.

After all, if you truly are on vacation, and can't log in to bank, then, it doesn't matter, and this would only Really bother abusers of vacation mode.

I love that idea! I have been in a position where I could have ascended for the last, i'm not entirely sure how long, but it was 5 weeks after it came in that I had the option of ascending.

I am still a goauld. Why? Because I dont have the time to play a second server. So I sit here with my account just playing around with it, occasionally accruining G&R points when I feel like making a jump into the ranks, but I dont ascend becuase I don't have the time to play.

Now I could have easily done so and been living god quickly and easily, but I wasn't going to put my ascneded account on a "permanent vacation", because to me that is cheating. I don't care that others do it, and get away with it. But I will be standing there laughing when they take it away and bring in descension. Because they will all get slaughtered, and I wont be any worse off.

I say bring in the idea above, it will sort the lazy from the strategic, and "men from the boys".

Then I hope that if the top 10 do decide to band together, that you aren't one of the ones moaning when you deacend

I haven't ascended in the slightest, so I look forward to farming all of the de-scendee's...

I think it's silly that you see it as that. No-one is forced to do anything here. When you choose to ascend you have two servers to deal with. That's where the extra responsibility comes in for the extra power you receive. If you don't want to play in the ascended server, don't ascend.

I must say I'm liking the idea that vacation mode be tied to both servers.

i see non ascended ppl in here posting they wont have a say in this. decasention is along way off and i dont see ascended ever being linked to main in such away, that would mean if some one has only time to check one game today then they have to activate 2. forum will never like them, the only way they are linked is main feeds ascended everytime you ascend no others links and most likely itll stay that way, unless of course forum wants to be moaned at alot, by the 100's of ppl that only want bonuses and dont care to play

That's the point! If you want the extra power associated with one server, accept the responsibility of maintaining your account on the other.

All your other points are simply speculation. Who says descension will be an easy task? Who says what the penalties on main will be for losing your ascended account?

Yes, the point is not how they are currently linked, but perhaps how they should be.

If you do not have the time to play the game, go on vacation mode. If you only have time to play one of the servers (and in the odd situation that its the faster paced main server), then tough! Accept the fact you ascended and now have to deal with two servers or neither. If you can't handle it, don't ascend. Ascension has always been a choice, and the consequences have always been public knowledge I believe.

^_^ Having to play on the ascension server is an outcome of your OWN choice to ascend. Having ignored that? Your OWN fault. You could know that it was there... so don't cry about it.
Only it should be activated AFTER descention is introduced... all those who didn't like it so far (but are ascended...) will then have to chance to leave it.

I currently play on FOUR servers (Main, Chaos, Quantum and Ancient Wars). It costs me some time, but if I ascend and I would have to choose 2-3 servers to stay on, I'd choose Main, Ascension and Chaos. (Already a short note to AK on TAW).

I must admit I did not think into about going on perminant vacation. And Wolf, people shoule be able to be assended to get the bonuses, and not have to stay alive on the Assended wars server. Otherwise, as i stated before, there could be only 10 people assended, and thus the most powerful of all due to the bonuses, and no one else would be able to be.

I've been away - so excuse the late reply.

We're sort of saying the same thing (I think) - that it shouldn't just be possible to 'descend' someone once and they lose all of their bonuses in main - which is why I said it should be progressive - i.e. to totally remove a Living God+1 main bonuses, you would have to 'descend' the ascended account 6 times until they are removed from ascension and lose their bonuses in main. This should be made very difficult to do - and should weaken the attacking player massively, leaving them open to descension themselves.

But, I still think that in order to have your bonuses in main, your ascended account should have tgo be active - i.e. not in permanent vacation - which is why I said ascended accounts should only be allowed in vacation mode if the main account is also in vacation mode.

Favre said that the Ancients had basically been in permanent vacation mode in the series - the difference is that the ascended ancients do not bestow power upon mortal beings - therefore if they were in permanent vacation it would not affect anyone. However - the Ori bestow power on their followers - so if they disappeared it would undoubtedly have an effect on their mortal followers.

Read my post above - it should be made that anyone involved in a descension is massively weakened.

And I disagree completely - if you want the bonus in main, your ascended account should be active - it is not as though it takes a lot of effort!

And do not swear on the forum - friendly warning!

Id like to see if decension comes in that your forces arent wiped out. why reset the accounts? loosing the bonus is all decending should do.

Allow me my two cents here

Many of us, when ascension first came out, hesitated on the doorstep to ascension. We were told that there would be the possibility of losing not only our ascension server accounts, but also taking severe damage to our main accounts. Thus we took ascending very seriously and went in fully prepared to begin taking care of the new server account to protect ourselves from descension.

Now, however, it is public knowledge that descension isn't out yet. Now people are ascending willy-nilly just for the bonuses in main. And they, unlike us early ascenders, don't want to take the responsibility of a new account in a (relatively) new server and want to **Filtered** and moan that they might lose their precious main bonuses because they didn't think that they would ever have to play the ascension server to protect those bonuses.

in short - STOP WHINING! THOSE OF US WHO TAKE ASCENSION SERIOUSLY WANT SOME GOD DAMN FUN!

and rest assured, all the whiners will be the first to go.
