Decension - Preemptively stopping a problem

I wouldn't care if I lost it all after ascending 1000 times, I would keep playing if only for the challenge.

and besides, why is people quitting such a bad thing? so they can't handle the elite server, just keeps things among the elite. (not claiming to be so elite myself, but I aim to be)

you would CARE, if you didnt CARE you wouldnt be playing, and if you had ascended 1000 times you would more than CARE if yo got descended.

i like the idea of being able to decend peoplel but in the actuall series the Ancients couldnt Decend Anubis all the way

Actually i think in season 8 it was revealed that the ancients delibrately only half descended Anubis but they could've done it fully if they wanted to.

Anyway i kinda agree with Hensenshi! I hope what would happen is that people that get descended would lose their ascension bonus: ie the income, strike, defence, and covert bonus, as well as the ascended blessing. So a Prior would just lose their 5% bonus in all areas, where as a Living God with 6 ascensions would lose their 30% bonus in all areas plus the ascended blessing.

And i remember a post (sorry i can't remember who by now, it was a while ago) where they suggested that instead of being say "Living God of the Indu" their main status should be changed to "Fallen of the Indu". I think this is also a good idea.

De-ascension could freeze the ascended account, and weaken the main server account by taking away ascended bonuses. a future ascension reactivates all that was lost.

Advantage to the player descended
Dont completely lose the ascended account
Can regain what was lost on one ascension (main server) but not gain the ascension bonus that time

Disadvantage
Main account losses its ascended bonuses (good)
Ascended account falls behind in growth, but isnt completely destroyed
Gets a spiffy title, Forcefully descended being by xxx (name of player )
The ascension to regain what was lost brings no points to the ascension account. only reactivates it


there are downsides to this plan, but hey. this is the suggestions forum :d

Talkin of the police

Who will police the police?? Who will make sure that they r not corrupted?? Everythin has a price, surely if u found that right price u could get them 2 do anything. I mean gangsters would bribe the police during the prohibition, so wht makes everyone think that these police would do the correct thing??

side note: i'm not suggesting that anyone in particular is/would b bribed just the fact that it has been there in history n surely it could happen again

An excellent idea, though when it freezes the Ascended account I would prefer it if physical aspects (Fleet Production, "Super" Worlds, Weapons etc) were destroyed (fell into ruin without their god), but the Ascended self numbers remained (when you reAscend is feels slighty familiar, so you know what you are up to). All normal trained up worlds would simply become Undeveloped, and then your account would just sit there, with a message along the lines of "A Godless, barren galaxy in which every planet seems to bear its own curse", preventing people from attacking or raiding it.

In Main, losing your % bonus would probably be severe enough (and the Ascended Blessing tech I suppose, for flavour). Weapons and Super Units going is harsh, but understandable. UU, UP, Spy Levels and what not should stay- a total reset is a step too far.



On the "policing ourselves" issue. This happens already. The powerful groups that dominate Ascension set up the rules (informally, at the moment anyway ), and we're all ppretty aware of what they are. You can't see corruption there, because it is not claiming to be some sort of impartial body. It is what it is - rule by the strong, fit in or die. And rightly so. Having some sort of formal council would just create a mass of bureaucracy and cause people to annoy each other on a more regular basis.

either i'm missin the point or surely a member of the GA would b impervious 2 decension in a way bcoz the GA r strong in ascention n i'm thinkin that bein part of the GA is that u all stand wiv each other, so if 1 member (using this just as a example) woz 2 decend sum1 for the hell of it, the GA surely couldn't punish them due 2 the fact they r allies

I've got an idea here. if someone is descended they lose all of the bonuses to main, but the main account is otherwise intact (the ascended being having sacrificed the knowledge to protect the main realm from the shock of its god's death); but if they choose to descend, then they get to keep SOME of the bonuses (being able to retain a limited amount of ascended knowledge in a limited corporial form). Say half of the bonus they used to have (so a LG with 30% who chooses to descend would have 15% bonuses to everything.

makes sense to me, what does everyone else think?

surely though if you knew that you were a target for decension you would self sacrafice, thus instead of loosing everything you only loose half

i think it should be the same, forcefully decended or voluntarily

no, not the point I was getting at.

if an ascended person voluntarily descended, then they could do so by levels and gradually bring down the higher knowledge with all the great care required

whereas someone forcefully descended would have little time to do more than protect their main realm from the total shock of its god's death.
