Vacation change...WTH?

You now need to refrain from attacking others for 5 days, before you can use the vacation option. This will prevent 'attack and hide' tactics, which many have complained about as it eliminates the ability to strike back.

Well, there goes any ability for me to use vacation. I tend to play a lot at school, and then when I'll be away from the 'net for a weekend, I go on vac mode. This just totally fracked up my whole gameplay strategy. Between this and the planets update, I'm getting so frustrated with this game--first the planets were great but easily stolen, then harder to steal and pretty good, now suck and are impossible to steal--where's the balance? All of the planets are in the hands of the high-ranked players anyway, so there's no way to go get them for fear of being massed! And now we can't attack for FIVE days before vacation mode? If you wanted to stop the "attack and hide" tactics, then make it 24 or 48 hours, not five days!

I agree with ripsaw - if this is to prevent the "Attack and Hide" tactic then fair enough, but at least reduce it to about 2 days, not 5 days.

Another vote for only a 24 hour period here. afte rall some of us will have to go on vacation mode at short notice or in the case of those without the internet at home (yes some ppl still dont have it at home yet) render this game unplayable unless they are stat builders

Please forum take note of this, you may find players leving in droves if you continue to force upon us such updates that make the game either not fun to play or simply unplayable.

I mean forgive if i'm wrong but the name of this game ends in the word War does it not?? Surely if you wish to prevent attack&hide tactics a day would be succifent

Yeah, this seriously makes no sense. If it is to prevent massing someone, and then hiding away right after - it doesn't take five days for someone to retaliate.

I believe this change is (no offence) poorly thought out. 5 Days is simply an unfeasable time limit. I have played this game for over 7 months and not once taken the vacation mode option, however i know it is there should i have to leave the computer/be away from the internet incase of emergancy.

By putting a 5 day limit on you are basically saying that should we need to take a vacation we have to plan an emergency/reason 5 days in advance.

Lets see...my girlfriends cat is gonna get run over at 5.02pm on tuesday in a weeks time and will require my comfort.... you must see my point!!!

This is the wrong answer.

Sometimes before an update they need to canvas our opinion, see what the players think.

Possible line of thinking.....

you can attk someone and go on ppt, then another ppt making 4 days so then this gives someone 1 day to respond.

And instead of stupidly insulting Forum when we want something....*couinsertanameheregh*

possibly make it so you cant have attked or been on ppt in the last 24-48 hours this way there is that time to retaliate and doesn't make you stop playing for a minium of a week

well... if you go on 2 PPTs, odds are they take you into the next week... so maybe it should be bumped up to 9 days then

also there are some situations when one goes away without 5 day prior notice
i was thinking maybe if you havent attacked anyone for X days(im putting X as 5 day thing might be changed) you can go for normal 2+ days vac, if you have however - you could for example not be able to attack for say 15 days when you get off vac, or for example 4x the time period between X days before vac and your last attack(so closer to vac means more compensation)
or make the "compensation" after vac in some other way, maybe no ppt for next 2 weeks and no vac for next week...just an idea

That sounds like a much more logical solution, as long as vacation mode is there and available should you need it incase of emergencies, im all for after vacation measures.

i'm all for this update but with a minimized X days of no attacking. wat if someone had a family trajedy and couldn't be online for a long time. they massed someone who refused to stop farming their officer. will they now be open to farming during their grief?

i think it should b 2 days AFTER the vac mode, because yes someone could mass someone and still go on vac mode, but once then get off ther open to attacks without retaliation for 2 days

my life is very unpredictable and i go on alot of trips within a day of finding out. im sure im not the only one. i think the way i proposed would b a compromise.

i agree with AI_'s suggestion. no requirement of days b4 but a requirement of days after getting off it ^_^
