Unable to transfer Alliance Command

I am retiring from the Command of my Alliance, and am trying to transfer the leadership however it isn't letting me transfer it to anyone.

No error comes up, it is like the button has gone defective. For all intensive purposes, it is like the button has become a refresh page button...

Any help, (particularly from game support) could be very helpful.

I have also emailed game support with this message.

Are you trying to give leadership to a player who is an officer of either himself/herself, or another player? If so you cannot transfer leadership to them unless they are solo.

Well thats what it was like when I tried to transfer leadership for a few days to a friend. Try to transfer leadership to someone who isnt an officer and let me know if that worked.

He is an officer of someone, so he needs to be with no commander whatsoever...

Ok, I'll get him to become commanderless and then try it...

But in that case, how could I get it, because I am my own commander...
