The ability to reduce the size of a planet would allow for weaker players to then afford to defend them... as one tactic that is being used by rich players is to make the planet very large and therefore unaffordable to defend
This ability would be no different the untraining units.
Should players be able to reduce the size of planets

Rather than just voting it would be good to add your reasoning.
I voted no - because at the end of the day this seems to be a suggestion that will actually not benefit anyone.
It is said that newer players will not attack a planet because teh rich players will make them large - to deter people from stealing them because they cost too much to build defence.
Well, I would argue that this is actually a valid tactic - because not only will the poorer players not atatck them, but neither will the richer ones (unless they are uber-mega-rich). I would also argue that you do not have to be particularly rich to be able to increase the size of a planet.
Besides - would it really help? Let me explain:
a smaller player steals a planet from a 'rich' player and then reduces it from a ver large planet to a tiny planet. they put some defences on it and then........
The rich player just steals it back - put s defences on it and builds it back up to a very large planet.
So where is the benefit?
It is like I say to my officers and alliance members - if you cannot afford to adeqautely defend your planets, then it is a waste of time even trying to get them as all you are doing is pumping resources into them, just to see them get stolen anyway. Point is - wait until you are strong enough to be able to hold onto a planet.

I agree with wolf and besides how would someone go along reducing the size of a planet? I mean you could blow a big chunk in the planet but then it wouldnt be perfectly round this uncincronizing the planets orbit. Id say if this was implemented it should destroy like 1/2 of all defenses on planets and should be a fee to "round" the planet out to keep it in orbit in your solar system!

for a lower price.this will in turn renew the planet wars so maybe admin
will like it.... more turns spent.. more naq wasted..
However - the point of the suggestion is to make it so that a planet can be defended cheaply and not restolen - hence my point that there is no benefit.

if u haven't noticed...the game isn't ruled by the small budget ppl ^_^

Anything that goes into sub-forum is extra work for the admins. Why don't we just stop trying to improve that game? If they didn't want to make the game better, based on our suggestions, this forum wouldn't be here.
You simply don't like it because your omega, and anything that helps other players a little bit could cost you your powerbase, and people would be able to resist you a little. Heaven forbid omega might lose a power. The gap between the old players and the new players is turning into an aristocracy. Any alliance coming up gets annilhated by one of the two big alliances, and thats that.
