Edit by Wolf359: Bill - I altered the title of teh thread slightly - hope you don't mind - pm me if you have a problem.
After the attack planet thing. I feel that we should look at fleets. There is no way to hurt them. Therefore a new group of mercs funded by high ranked players is stealing planets for said players. Perhaps a way to reign this in before it gets out of hand?

Ability to attack Fleets
Sometimes some of the mods will try to step on you, or even mod your section. My advice is to fill a sock with marbles and hit them repeatedly until they stop. - Pianomutt2000.urban assault wrote: Bill? Hey, I said I was kidding! Bill, don't push that red button!

that would work, also if your mothership fleets can hit the other fleets it might add more to the game
I mean think logicly about this....If you have 500 planes, but no support. I should be able to blow them up on the runway......

Well it seems like the fleets aren't stored on the ground though, they're stored in the mothership's launch bays. They only leave to attack an enemy planet, or to add to the mothership's attack during an offensive battle.
Perhaps make it so that in defensive battles, as the mothership is damaged, the fleets it carries are lost/damaged? That way they could be massed like anything else.

Here's how I think Fleets should be destroyed:
#1: As they are. Lost in battles for planets -- obvious.
#2: Sabbable. If they need to be repaired, and are shown in the armoy, they should be sabbable like all other weapons.
#3: In Mothership battles. Fleets should be able to damage fleets.
#4: In Motherships Battles 2. If you blow through the shields, instead of destroying JUST weapons, destroy half weapons, half fleets.
My Personal opinion is all 4 should be allowed, Or possibly just 1 and 3, or 1,3 and 4.

this is a good idea. making fleets damageable in battle. also, make fleets cheaper, some people won't be able to restore fleets that easy. maybe make a fleet cost 8 mil naq?

A Squadron of X-02s, Death Gliders would be a nice addition.

The Normalcy Bias
The normalcy bias refers to an extreme mental state people enter when facing a disaster. It causes people to underestimate both the possibility of a disaster occurring and its possible effects. This often results in situations where people fail to adequately prepare for a disaster, and on a larger scale, the failure of the government to include the populace in its disaster preparations. The assumption that is made in the case of the normalcy bias is that since a disaster never has occurred that it never will occur. It also results in the inability of people to cope with a disaster once it occurs. People with a normalcy bias have difficulties reacting to something they have not experienced before. People also tend to interpret warnings in the most optimistic way possible, seizing on any ambiguities to infer a less serious situation.
Are you suffering from normalcy bias?

the weaker players might have a problem with this tho cuz yea not everyone in the game can buy fleets so easily, and then have them sabbed or destroyed in a def battle. i mean i know where your coming from me personaly have lost many planets to people just stealing and abandoning, and now i cant get any. but im content with how they are now, but if they were to be sabbed, or destroyed in a def battle, then the price should be lowerd, cuz then we could actualy rebuild, 100 fleets cost over 370mil and not everyone has that lying around
OH WRAITH GOT PWNED

That's what we need to prevent, that's the point of this thread.
Fleets, expensive or not, are indestructible unless you invest everything you have in planetary defenses, and then, oh snap! the guy can just sell his fleets, buy real weapons, and pound you in a direct battle while you're stuck with planetary defenses you can't sell.
It's a cheap shot, much like people who relied on only covert and strike action - with no defense - used to harass people until anti-covert was introduced.
