or...on another hand (i think this is what u were just suggesting)..do it by rank..60k - 25k get 4 a turn, 24999k - 15k get 3 14999k - 5k get 2 a turn and 4999 - 1 get 1 a turn...(maybe a bit different) and alll probably hard to arrange to for that matter..but its just a suggestion..

Will someone say this with me, rank means NOTHING.

rank means nothing
[I'm rank 11k but i got an army that could wipe out most of the players even in g^r, at least the ones with 1 gr point per turn, I'm keeping my rank down, Just like many others.]

listen up.

i myself was a returning player i came back after beeing massed to the ground and my account being .... well none of ur business. i came back and i found it impossible to grow because i have had little turns since people always attack me jsut using what little i get to rebuild. it is not enough to progress for the weaker players especially if they dont go and pay for ss or whatever...since this game IS ruled by those who pay i do not think my words will count for much but 1 or two more turns a turn wouldnt hurt that much...

Again - patience is the key - concentrate on managing your account effectively - building up appropriate stats to protect what you have got and to accumulate naq effectively - use Realm Alert effectively. PLAY the game - forge friendships, get a Commander and/or alliance that is willing to help and protect you. try diplomacy to try and stop people attacking you (sometimes all it takes is a simple request to stop!).

And do not say it cannot be done - because I have seen players who have been playing for a matter of few months who are ascended or on the brink of ascending.

Simply adding more ATs per turn is a quick fix for impatient players that will ultimately lead to a further demise of the game.

The introduction of the market meant more resources became available - the introduction of lower tradeable amounts meant smaller quantities could be traded. The introduction of being able to trade 1000 G&R for FSS meant that you no longer have to spend any money to progress - but it will not happen overnight - you need to put some TIME and EFFORT into it.

Not thinking of myself at all - so do not accuse me of anything without justifying your claims!

And what do you mean 'Can't'?

Everyone has equal chance of finding friends to help them in this game - so I would suggest that those that 'can't' are either not putting appropriate effort in, or are annoying the wrong people.

Although I have played for a long time I wasn't always one of the 'big people' as you put it - but learning how to properly mix attacking, diplomacy and relationships has helped me. And, funny old thing, all players that I have passed this advice on to, and who have heeded it, have also been successful.

You just keep proving my point for me - people are impatient and want everything straight away!

Building a decent account is difficult because it isn't meant to be easy. And to do it you need to put in some time and effort, which some people seem unwilling to do.

I don't think impatience is so much the problem as frustration. Growth in this game becomes exponential once one passes a certain threshhold in terms of attack, defense and UP. In order to assist newer players to reach the point where ascension isn't merely an impossible dream an increase in AT's per turn seems a viable option. I agree that rank is meaningless in terms of power, a more accurate measure of what "new player" assistance an account should receive is UP, or even the date of account activation in relation to the entire SGW population.

Whether it is frustration or impatience - one is generally a result of the other.

But, and I am sick of pointing this out now, other new players seem to be able to cope by putting in time and effort - so why should extra ATs be brought into the game for those who do not wish to put in the time and effort?

Are these the majority of new players or the ones you know? I doubt anyone can speak for the entire population of SGW players who are just starting out. As for time and effort, many do not have limitless amounts of time to spend on a game, no matter how entertaining it may be. Personally, I don't think the game should be limited to people who are willing to devote the bulk of their free time to SGW. What your suggesting is that there is little or no place for a casual gamer in this community.

There are very few games in which a casual gamer can become a top ranked account. And those games where that is possible tend to be slower and thus more likely to be boring. This game can be very fast-paced. Entire alliances can me massed in just a few minutes and rank means little to nothing. In a game like that a player than can only play a few minutes every few days stands a very little chance of ever competing to become a big shot.

They can still play usually, so long as they make very few enemys..but there progress will be very slow. Infact how attack turns are right now is actually better for those kind of players, because those type of people are the ones who actually rely on the turn given to them every 30 minutes. To an active player it doesn't mean very much.

I still think more at's would help people start up, but helping the 'casual' player isn't really what the idea is designed for.

Not at all - and do not put words into my mouth - what I said is that it is possible for ANYBODY to get a good account if they are WILLING to put in the TIME and EFFORT to do so.

If they are NOT WILLING to put in TIME and EFFORT then why should the fundamentals of the game be altered just to accomodate them?

I am, however, always open to compromise. So how about, instead of more ATs per turn, or more AT's dependent on rank or income or whatever (because they can be easily exploited), new accounts are simply given more ATs to start off with? This means that new players will have more attack turns than ever before - which is what you are all asking for really.

The only question now is, how many AT should it be? - I can't even remember how many a new account has.

A compromise sounds good. I'm pretty sure new accounts start with 20 turns. How about new players start off with 500?
