I had a friend that used to call me that on occasion. I guess I reminder her of the character.
I think I've posted before in other threads about my name, but I'll do so again here. Hitokiri is japanese, meaning assassin. I started using it in while playing counter-strike long ago (around beta 4 iirc) because it fit my playing style. At the time, I sucked at FPS games, so the only way I could get kills was to work my way around behind people and hit them from places they weren't expecting. I became very good at using strategy to ambush my opponents and started using Hitokiri to reflect the fact that I didn't just rush every round. I eventually became better (nowhere near profesional level, but a high end pub player or low-mid level amueter), but kept the handle as I still liked to "out think" my opponents to give myself the advantage in any given firefight. I've been using it ever since.
And for the record, I was using Hitokiri before the anime Kenshin was popular and everyone and their brother started using it ( I think it was 2 years before I saw anyone else use it, in the last few years it was not uncommon for me to see a few a week). I just refuse to give up my handle because a bunch of other people thought it was cool. I figure it'll eventually fade from view and I'll have it mostly to myself again.

i love those books
