Warp Drive for Motherships
This could cost a few bil to buy and could reduce the time of sending your fleet out to look for planets from 24 hours to 12.

Exactly, planets are scarce, this has no point. It would take hundreds of times to even get one. You are better off just taking somebody elses. If you want to make it so the attack time between taking planets goes to 12 hours, that would make planet stealers very happy, piss everybody else off and it still has almost no point to the normal player. You can only have so many planets, why spend naq on a limited use item?
Also, a few bil isn't very hard to get.

The point is - the MS has a hyperdrive anyway - and it is used when looking for planets - remember that planets are moved from one system to another - which implies that the MS has a hyperdrive/ warp drive.

ok.
Allow upgrades of that hyperdrive.
The more weapons and shields on the ship, the higher the cost of the upgrade. More weapons and such means a bigger ship and a bigger ship means a bigger and more expensive hyperdrive. This way newbs can upgrade their ship if its small and be able to afford it and big guys have to pay more for it. Balances stuff out.

i rather see upgrades related to possible # of planets to steal per day. like some energy recharge upgrade
ofc this should also imply that the MS is not available during the time it is recharging (otherwise the energy would be spent on weapons and shields.
maybe something like the shield/weapon/fleet capacity thing could be added for this, like energy charger slots, and then energy charger modules (like the actual shields/weapons/fleets) to charge up the tractor beam thing, and ofc you should also be able to blow these to hell when you fight another MS

No. Planet stealing dosnt need more boosts.
Of that there is no doubt!

Then we just increase the base time of it to 72 hours (more may be better) or something instead of the current 24. then with the energy chargers, you can bring it down to around 12h (and the more chargers you buy, the less effect it has on recharge time).

I suggested a Similar idea a while back, however i did not imply that it should affect finding planets
