ID NUMBERS FOR PLANETS! BRILLIANT

if u do this then the planets get dominated.


if u can track down whoever has ur planet and u go an take it back, then eventualyl there wont be plaents anymore since their all taken away, and as soon as someone loses one, they just wait and track it right back. no, bad idea, why?

because planet stealing and then hidding it won't work

Heres an idea, steal it then HOLD it.


I know, I know, you would have to have decent income / farming skill to make this worthwhile, but hear me out.


reece your planet, find its stats, reece it every few days to make sure its not regularly getting improved (or just make sure you can still take it)

Then go on PPT, or whatever you do to gain resources in mass quantities.

As soon as you come off, or have the ammount of naq you think you need, steal the planet and pour the naq into its def.

Then mass anyone that tries to steal it (execpt in situation SOL.)

Situation SOL: You were dumb and stole a planet from someone with much higher stats, with an alliance with powerful people, or a planet under someones protection. Opps, too bad, Its the same as a naq hit resulting in your getting massed.

the reason for having id's on planets, would be to prevent planetstealers from getting away with taking a planet, then immedeatly sell it afterwards... with id's, the previous owner would be able to see where it ends up, instead of it dissapears... no, the id's cannot be permanent, as that would make planets too easy to take... the id's should only be available for a few days... (perhaps as part of attack log)

if planets had been meant to be taken just to sell on, the features for that would have been supplied... planets are meant to be in someones possesion as long as they can defend it from others that want that planet, not till some multi looking for profit from selling it steals it... planets are around to get profit/bonus from being able to hold onto, not to get profit from selling them to others...

we suspect that those who are most against this idea, are those kinds of people that simply take planets for selling on... why we suspect this? we suspect it since they would be most hurt by this idea being implemented... many of those also supporters have paid lots of $$ to get ss for the multies so that they can give them naq to buy all the fleets neccesary to steal unprotected planets...

I am split on this idea...

It helps eliminate the effectiveness of planet-stealing-multies-True
It also means that the bigger players can get planets, and then never worry about loosing them permanently.

But multi's are not the only ones who use this tactic. I know on many occasions I have been asked by friends to steal a planet from so & so, in order to prevent a ping-pong effect of planet stealing. I imagine others do the same.

I just believe that forum made planets as a source for bigger players to pour resources into...and that he wants them to be taken and not held permanently, and this idea would seriously reduce the amount of planet stealing going on.

the reason for the about max 5 day log on location of planet was to prevent people from keeping them forever, as if the numbers were permanent, they would do as you said, but if they dissapear after five days, it would make it so that those that seal just to annoy people and sell planets, would be possible to stop, as well as making sure that planets still move around...

Planets should have some way of being found I mean...cmon...its not like a planet would be a hard thing to hide, hence my idea for ID numbers

planets can be hidden, just think about the sg-1 episode "paradise lost" (dont remember episode number) (sorry if spoiling for those that haven't seen it...)

but we agree, there should at least be a temporary id number...
perhaps all people know there are id numbers, perhaps carved into the surface of the planet, and it takes say five days to remove that carving, and carve a new id, so the previous id remains for those few days...

i think this idea is for the slackers that dont want there planets to get stolen...honestly stupid idea ya i got some planets stolen by Planets pirates...doesnt mean i should come in here and make a idea for like this to help me get my planet back....


...besides ur planet is never lost..i mean by this either ur planet is somewhere floating around or in the servers planet cache for when some1 seahces for planets

Just cause u want ur planet back doesnt make u a slacker, do you have any idea how hard a stolen planet is to find after its changed hands?

had it been easy to get new planets by searching, it would have ok to scrap this idea, but it is actually very hard, and the problem with the planet thieves is that they do not take planets for their personal use, but take them in order to send them to others... it would have been ok if those taking planets had personal use of them, instead of just using them as trade goods... as long as those stealing planets solely for selling on are around in numbers, this idea is valid...

If you don't want your planets to get stolen, it doesn't make you a slacker. They're not easy to come by and there can be a lot of naq invested in them. What would you say if people were able to steal your spylevels, or UP upgrades, or your entire mothership? It's a valid concern for people to want to be able to protect their investments to some extent. And the time limit on the ID-log makes sure it is only "some" extent.

i recently had a planet with well over 150 bill invested in it stolen by a planet thief. I would love to be able to get it back but it appears admin isnt interested in what players want unless it makes him money.

Before mods choose to delete this for being offensive etc, I would like to point out that this is my persoal opinion of the situation and not intended to deliberately flame admin.

This idea would go a LONG way to making admins job easier as it would highlight the vast majority of multi's but as with so many ideas, if its not popular with "the chosen few" (ie admins online friends) its never gonna get implemented.

I wonder how long it will be before admin realises that this game is getting towards the point where its not worth playing from scratch any more as too many people have become virtually untouchable on this server!

Many many people pour entire savings into planets when they get them only to have them taken away by unscrupulous players who derive satisfaction from nothing more than spoiling the enjoyment of others.

I guess the easy way to deal with this could be to make it so that the only person who can steal a planet for 24 hours after it was stoen would be the original owner. This would give most players the chance to regin it and defend it properly.

Well, I was thinking about planet names and the idea would be:

1- Being able to search for the planet (since names are always changing, ID would be a GREAT idea)

2- At least make planets have NAMES at all times.... no "no name" planets....

this is a great idea, im sick of going to retake my planet only to find the no0b already lost it.
