Trade is private. Trade should remain private. If you get caught out trading to aid an enemy, then you are stupid and deserve to get blitzed.

Well - the truth is that there are auto-scrubbers which detect curious behaviour and alert Gamemod already. I don't think he/she needs players to be searching out multies.

In addition, the reason why they say that it only helps the GA is this:

If you think about it, it rly only helps those who eant to police traders, and make sure they don't trade wtih an enemy. So far, the major, and loudest ppl enforcing trade embargoes during war are the GA.

so...it's not the whole server hating on you guys...it's the fact that you're the only ones thus far who have tried to police trades. Stop being so paranoid and let down that "everyone hates us" PR bs for a while. That is all.

Edit: What Alabrax said. Try looking past your paranoid prejudice for a change and see a good idea for what it is instead of the usual fear-mongering "OH NO THIS MAY HELP THE GA TOO, BIG SURPRISE."

If you did, you would see this actually HELPS non-GA players. How often do you hear of spies in Omega? Well, now you have a chance to spy on OUR suppliers and are complaining about that possibility.

Step back a minute from your hate GA parade and look at the larger picture.

I think you missed my point, so I will sum it up:

1. The GA is extremely public about massing those who trade with their enemies. During the war there were several topics about this, including one in the black market dedicated to paying informants. They are the only alliance/group of alliances that is so public about this tactic, and I might even go as far as to say the only ones using it.

2. Members of the GA are the major proponents for an update that would make it extremely easy to tell if someone is trading with your enemy.

Mack pointed out the parallel, and I was trying to explain why ppl might see this as helping the GA more than others.

Personally, I would not like this update because a. I'd never use it, because I dissagree with policing trades, even those of my enemies, and b. I trade enough to make this a dangerous proposition if I happened to unknowingly trade with the wrong person.

I rly don't care if it helps the GA or not, or who is policing trades; if an update has no potential to help me, and a slight potential to hurt me, then i don't like it - end of discussion.

What does irk me though is how GA members continue to see enemies where there are none. I honestly don't care one way or the other about the GA, and I think the same hold true for most of the server.

The truth of the matter is that most ppl who reject this sort of an update will reject it based on a and b. I give credit to your (rather effective) PR machine, but in this case, it is simply missplaced.

I just hope this doesnt become a GA issue. This suggestion has nothing to do with the GA. I can however understand the resistance that some people have with the idea.

Not agreeing on this doenst make anyone right or wrong here... we just want different things... and there is nothing wrong with that.

I've suggested thing like this in the past (as have others) - i.e. spying on atatck/intel logs etc - although good ideas, nothing ever came of them.

I'd like the GameAdmins to take a look at Alabrax's idea, along with the older ones.

The players would be able to police each other, if you have 5 sets of covert logs where all the multies sending their naq to the same player, that could make Game Mods life 20 times easier. (Just ask him to look at your covert logs.)

With that said, I think this would be a particularly good idea to implement. (It would cheating much easier to find and detect since the players can help.)

i consider it a bonus for gamemod if this was ever implemented

But why should they be?

I mean in any empire trade agreements get recorded. Why could spies not be sent out to get this paperwork?

And there has been a suggestion to record the non-broker goods transfers also to help combat people getting hacked. Well put that in... and then with this we could see all the transfers.

Maybe make it sort of like spying on someone to see planet strengths... you might see some of it but not all of it in one go. But make it seperate from normal spy runs... so you can't see that stuff when you are looking for military info all in one spy run.

i would prefer my trades be private. its taboo to discuss private trade details with others unless permission granted. how would u like to do a private trade and have someone spy it out...then post the details on forum? of ur confidential private trade. but this idea has been shot down so many times b4...

it is called the private trade broker for a reason. a smaller player may become scared to trade with people outside of powerful alliances like the GA as well as other strong alliances. also strong alliances would then control the private trade broker as they could blackmail people into only dealing with them since they could spy on attack these small players and would pretty much eliminate private trades. i do like the idea of finding mutli players but this is only advantage more disadvantages then advantages. my two sense.

As for my trades being public knowledge... I wouldnt care. But since this will be linked to covert actions, it has to do with people finding out about your account. Just like they would if they spied on you... only instead of military info its trade info. Its only private at this point because the option to see it by any means is not there. Your trades being private is just a by product of the game features, it is not a right or a intentional feature on its own.

I am not sure why you seem to post on all my posts and talk against anything I post about but its rather annoying to say the least.

i am not talking against you and nothing personal. so don't take it so personal. and the difference between spying on someons private stats and private trades is private trades involve 2 people and effect 2 people spying on one person would give insight to both parties as personal stats only effect you

I was talking about Shizune... not you.

Hmm that is a good point however. Maybe your spy rating would have to over come not just person you are spying on... but also the covert of the other person in the trade also.

As for smaller playering being afraid to trade... what would they have to fear if they are not doing anything wrong? I mean its not like people are going to go around spying on everyone just to see if they are trading with people they dont like...
