they were called simply 'foothold aliens'
they werent really named, but they might fit...
and they were not the furlings... as in the episode "paradise lost" one saw skeletons, and the skeletons were humanoid endoskeletons(internal skeletons)... the foothold aliens had exoskeletons(external skeletons)
they could also fit in because if they are massed enough to loose amost everything, they self-destruct...

difficult, but not impossible, theres a game i play where the clans power is based on no. of players and the resources they put into it, so just apply the same principal here, i do quite like the sw idea tho.
the way to destroy an AI acc is getting a superweapon, capable of destroying these players, would be made from 4 pieces, for every race (normal and acsended together) 1
maby theres a small chance of getting a piece when you attack the enemy and whoever finds it it just automaticly goes to the sw platform or whatever,
OR
each race has to do a certain amount of attacks to gather research on how to kill the enemy and when enough attacks have been made the piece goes under development and is made after a while

wouldn't everyopne just hunt them down and destroy them from the start?
good idea but like everything else it could be used the wrong way or destroyed within its first gasps for life. and I think the race shouldn't even be stargate it limits the rest of the game i.e. changeing NaniTmasters to Asurans. Call it the Scourge or make it the Wraith

Our failure is obvious, we had our foot on the throat of Humanity and we failed to step down hard enough.

the reason for the suggwstion of using a race like the foothold aliens, was that they only appear in one episode, and they were not certain to have been destroyed, so they still have the possibility to exist. other races, like the nox or some other human people, have too much knowledge about in existence... they are too hard to adapt to the game...
we saw now they are actually called mimetic aliens; but there is pretty much nothing about them in existence... here is a link to the GateWorld text about them...
another race that could be used is the mysterious race that appears in the SG-1 season 7 episode 'Grace'
this race only appears as a hostile race, using a gigantic ship, equipped with strong weapons and some form of beaming technology, but nothing else is known about them (not even name)... this race seems easy to insert into the game, as almost everything is unknown; and therefore just to make up...

that is why we suggested the race from "grace" they do not need to be explained wherefrom they are, and pretty much everything about them is unknown... perfect candidate for making a new hostile race...

i dont' know what to call them but this could be alot of fun.. being able to war against AI accounts.. and it would allow greater unity among the races especially if a strong AI account started waring with the alliances
