Allow us to recover goods from expired brokers
A broker expired and all of a sudden I had a decent amount of UU out. I think we should be able to use the same concept as declined brokers, so we'd have a chance to not get raided

a broker expires exactly after 2 days. not one minute more or less.
if you can't remember when you set up your broker then it's your own fault.

Saying it is not your fault it expired is not entirely correct. Surely before you set up a broker with someone you actually check to see that the person will accept the broker?
There's two possibilities as I see it:
1 - You set up an unsolicited broker without checking the other trader would accept first.
2 - You set up a broker for a trade that was advertised, but did not check the other trader would accept first.
In both instances (if that is what happened) then it would have been remiss of you not to check that the other trader would accept before initiating the deal.
Unless, of course, you did check - then there is another option - you might have been scammed.
As stated - a broker expires after exactly 2 days - so people know when their resources may be released into the open. Adding a 'time to recover afterwards' is kind of just extending the expiry time, isn't it? So what would happen then when somebody complains that the expiry time + recovery time is not enough? Do we extend it again? I don't think so.
Finally, what would be a suitable recovery time to ensure that you can reclaim your resources from an expired broker? 1 hour, 5 hours, 10, 24, 5 days? The problem is- there isn't a suitable recovery time that would please everyone and guarantee that you get your resources back (unless you make it infinite.

RB Ian wrote:actually, it was option #3, he had to go out for the weekend and apologized for being unable to get to a computer and accept the broker
And I figured 12 hours was a good time since that's how long you have for a rejected broker, so it's consistent
So if he had to go out, could he not have declined it before he went, or at least let you know?

no matter how you turn it around.
if you had done the deal in a more organized fashion it would have never happened

Try to stay on topic and speak about the suggestion. Is it a good idea or not, why, modifications needed, etc.
U went a bit off with speaking about RB Ian, and where they were, why couldnt they log in, etc. Dont make it personal.
For example the last post before this could have been:
"Theres no need to implement anything about this, since it could be solved with better organization of deals."
