Planet Questions

Hello everyone, i'm fairly new to this game, and a n00b in the forums here. I just have a couple of questions concerning planets:

1. Is there a set number of planets in the game? (no more are added, or taken away)

2. If a planet is abandoned, and someone else explores, will they find it?

3. If i have a planet, and someone explores, can they take it? even though it's under my control?

4. Are planets really worth all the trouble?

1 yes and there pretty much gone

2 yes given ure lucky to catch it before the hundreds of roaming ms dont

3 no, but depending on def they can steal with fleets

4 yes and no if u can keep hold/defend them but not essential to obtain
u can take the no planet approach too

5 this should be in noob section

1.) Yes there is a set number to the best of my knowledge
2.) Yes somebody can find an abandoned planet
3.) Your planets cannot be taken by somebody exploring with their mothership, but they can be taken if somebody has a fleet strength higher than your planetary defenses.
4.) After all of it some planets are worth the trouble like Cov/UP/attack if you upgrade them enough they all have their purposes. But in order to benefit from planets most you need alot of money invested in them

That's my answers if im wrong somebody please scold me.. but this should be in the Newbie/FAQ forum either way
