Just a quick note on how to possibly balance the bonuses that the planets give you.

How about the lower ranking members of the alliance get a larger percentage of the bonus (for sake of argument we'll stick with a 1k UP planet) than the higher ones.

The lower players would need the bonuses more that the higher players for the obvious reasons but also help close the gap a little in higher/lower rankings so that the alliance is more equal.

I dont know exactly what the percentages should be, that can be argued and trialed at a later time. The only obvious flaw with this idea is innactives, but the alliance leaders should have an idea of who is in and who is not.
You have been opinionated!!

I think in order to save it being to complex, everyone should have the same percentage - I had the same thoughts as you on it, and wondered whether lower players should gain more from it, but the reality is, it will probably be the higher players that contribute more...

So in essence, the bonus the weaker players who cant contibute anything get, is in fact that - a bonus, and they probably shouldn't get more than the people who are paying for it...

This is obviously a rule of thumb, it would be up to the allaince leaders to say if/if not their weaker players had to contribute. But to use an example I know too well, if this update was implemented, I would not expect the lower players in an alliance to contribute as much, but I would be happy for them to benefit - I would be pretty annoyed if they were benefiting more from it than me though

Honours and Awards

This is a good sounding idea but I really only see it benifiting larger stronger alliances. Just like the whole planet update itsself. I do like the idea tho.

A couple ideas from me

Make the amount of planets that can be held based on the number of members in said alliance

10 members get 1 planet
20 get 2
30 get 3
and so on

The planets have to be held by a member of said alliance.(he gets no extra bonus for doing so)

Do not mark these planets in any way. They cannot be hunted out for there special properties then. You wont know if the leader or the seemingly inactive account has it.

Also make it harder to take one, maybe make the fight for it involve all the MS's from said alliance? (probably be too complicated by hey)

Well good luck with this, I hope it goes somewhere.

Since this is an alliance planet and is a special planet, the bonus should be the amount given to each person... EG a 1k UP planet gives 1k per each person. Only alliances can hold Alliance planets so that makes them a different type.

good idea, but as with what Lore said... the bigger alliances would get them and it would only benefit them, so o would say split the bonus between everyone... say 10% in an alliance of 10 people, everyone gets a 1% bonus

Then why the hell make it say 1k anyway? -_-

The Number it shows should be the amount EACH alliance member is getting. No math involved to determine it.

In theory this isn't a bad idea, but i see everyone using a 1k Up planet as an example, how about, (and i will use omega as they are the most powerful alliance in the game)

Say they decide to make an attack planet, and with the income the alliance is pulling they super-size it, make its defence way beyond what anyone could touch, and its ripping other alliance apart in a war,

There would be even more crying done that what already is when they start attacking, same goes for any other alliance in the top 20, if they attacked anyone it wouldn't be fair, an update like this would defiantly make the strong, stronger and no one would be able to get a look in,

Even if the stats where split between everyone in the alliance, take 40 members now take a 400bill attack planet, ok so its only 10bill each, but with trillions of naq being put into it, wouldnt be long in climbing,

Or if we use Lore's example of

10 members get 1 planet
20 get 2
30 get 3
and so on

Whats to stop a powerful alliance splitting up to make 4 teams of 4, and each one pours all there resources into it, that 400bill attack becomes 40bill to each person, (( and it takes no damage in massing ))

The numbers would soon get way outta control,

Like i said its a good idea, but not practical for SGW, maybe with alot of thought and tweaking it could work, or by setting limits.

Just my own personal views on it.
Deep within Noob Cave, you find a strange pool filled with a glowing blue liquid. You think back to what your mother told you about unfamiliar liquids found in caves.

You're pretty sure she said "Drink it! What's the worst that can happen?"

it would be much more balanced if the bonus was split between the alliances, not given to everyone...

remember, that part of the upgrade would involve spiraling costs... for example, it might cost 1 trillion to get to 1000 UP, but it costs 3 trillion to get from 1000 to 2000, and 9 trillion to get from 2000 to 3000, 27 trillion from 3000 to 4000, etc.

take 2 alliances... one has 40 members, and 1 has 10... the alliance with 40 members would obviously have more people dumping more naq into their planet, but the rewards would diminish...

the alliance with 10 members could pump 1 trillion into their planet and get a bonus of 1000, that would mean on average that their members spent 100 mil, and get a bonus of 100 UP.

the alliance with 40 members could pump 40 trillion into their planet to get a 4000 UP, but it would be split into 40 accounts, so in effect each member would have spent 1 trillion on the same 100 UP bonus.

sure, this would encourage breaking up of alliances into groups for the benefit of cheaper upgrades, but is that a really a bad thing, especially if it is tied directly to alliances? Would Omega be willing to break into 4 different Omega factions and give up their #2 spot in the alliance rank just for some cheaper upgrades?

maybe... maybe not.

all of these things would have to be considered when forming an alliance and when allowing new members to join.

people would have to consider the costs of leaving their alliance, as they would lose the bonus that they helped pay for.

alliances would have to question whether or not they would want a strike planet, as the strike bonus might make farming or raiding harder for some of it's members.

alliances would have to reconsider strategies, and base their alliance strategy on the planet that they posess.

I think this is actually a great sugestion, that could completely change the dynamics of the game...

How about the alliance commanders control how much each player gets based on their ranks in their indivual alliances

i like this idea heres my 20cents worth

how about a new planet update system with planets for the alliance

the planets are much more powerful than normal ones and require an allioance fleet which can steal other alliances planets. the ratio of costsd would be similiar to the current ones. ie a 3bil defence on the planet would be much cheaper than a 3bil fleet power

planets could also be found like the ones we have
the limit of stealing 1 per day would apply
attacking other planets could only be done by the leader or 2nd in command and attacking other planets would not take turns as it would be too hard to figure out

an alliance bank should be used so only the leader and second in command can spend resources on the planet but everyone can contribute.

i hope you make some sense of my ideas cause i cant really lol...

i forgot to say the overall bonus of the planets should be divided by the number of people in the alliance

and that say for every 5 members a new slot for a planet can be bought for maybe the average income of the alliance per day.. just a thought

Thanks guys, I appreciate your input, we seem to be forming some good ideas.

I agree with the people who see flaws in the idea - because there are some.

What I would ask instead of just stating what they are, lets try and find a way to make it work.

I really do recon it will add another level to the game, as an example I am part of an allaince, but there is nothing to do together as an alliance in the game, sure you can be in an alliance and go to a war with another, but thats it...

At present there are no incentives to be a part of the alliance and god couldnt have put it better...

the alliance with 10 members could pump 1 trillion into their planet and get a bonus of 1000, that would mean on average that their members spent 100 mil, and get a bonus of 100 UP.

the alliance with 40 members could pump 40 trillion into their planet to get a 4000 UP, but it would be split into 40 accounts, so in effect each member would have spent 1 trillion on the same 100 UP bonus.

This would combat the massive gulf between the powerful and the weak, and in turn benefit everyone...

sounds great, maby instead of the planets having defence structures they have all the MSs defend them?
