I think there has been many good points been made in this thread, but at the end of the day they mean nothing if the 'powers that be' dont read this, could we possibly get alittle hello and how do from some one from 'up there' ?

Psi Kiya Trist and I both responded to this thread. Why is it that an illusion is had that you are being ignored? Why is it that this illusion must be fed with things that directly contradict that which any person could easily observe?

So, ought I voice my opinion about whether or not "old skool d00dz" ought to be cast out of the moderation team because the proverbial "we" has had enough of them?

The only criterion that I need is that the said modding team is doing its job. Whether it is composed of old or new players does not concern me. Whether or not they APPEAR biased does not concern me nearly as much as whether or not they actually are. Appearance is really the personal interpretation of the observer, and the observer would be the one that is biased to make such shakey, unsupported assumptions.

I dont care if Older players are Mods or not, that isnt the point I am making, I wouldnt care if a 1 day player became a Mod, aslong as he/she did a good job.

All I was saying for an admin or someone very high up to come here and give us there Two cents on what has been said, and maybe tell us things might change in the future or not at all. I know you and Psi both posted here, they were intresting posts, but they didnt asnwer any questions we had about modding in the future, I am not having a go at anyone on the Admin team or in the Modding team, I just want a good forum and I think we all want that.

Hmm... I'll give my opinion in this discussion, too...
What is a mod? Several options here:

1) Someone with power, who looks godlike towards the users. Mods silently, or with a LOT of noise. Advantage: a lot of authority, disadvantage: the users won't control the mod
2) A lame user who just wanted to mod everything he/she doesn't like. Disadvantages: a lot
3) A user with power, who is both respected and controlled by the users. Mods only if it is getting spammy or going the wrong way. Only advantages
4) Somebody you'd better don't want to know. Mission for you: run as far away from them as you can, since they will make the forums hell-like
5) Someone who mods topics anywhen he/she likes

In my opinion, you should have a combination of type 1 and 3. Let's say... a mix of 1 to 5. That way, you are sure of always having minimal a few mods who keep the respect up.
And if you wish to react about the types I drawed (there are lot more types, though. Way too much to mention here), go ahead please
Also, it shouldn't matter how long someone is playing SGW... although understanding more of the history of SGW is an advantage.

yes, actions are being set in motion to try and "fix" these "wrongs" you've put forth, however, some of the admins are slow to responding *coughshaitancough*

once i get things rolling again, we'll see what changes we can make, and all mods will have an oppertunity to give their opinions before they're implemented. at least, if all goes as planned >_>

Although, it'd be hard to know what a 1 day old player is like, but I get what you mean. Choosing a team is very difficult.

Applications don't really reflect Reality. An application serves to see how people believe it all to be like, before they actually find out. It reflects their idealistic views, when it ought to reflect their realistic views.

Of course, we can just watch every user carefully, but do we have the time? It is waaay easier when the community is small.
