Its in the EULA & legally a binding a contract between you & MS and much more importantly if you install it you will be agreeing to it!

Hence you cant disagree, after all you do have a choice and you dont have to use MS products

I wouldnt go for vista right after it goes to stores, better thing imho is to wait for some service packs, so MS will be able to repair the mistakes in that OS. And I can always use XP with vista transformation pack as I see almost no difference between the 2 of them xcept the graphics...and yep, mac is what really should be bought...
PS: You know why Bill Gates is sooo rich? Coz you have to pay for mistakes :-D

I don't plan to get it. My laptop is 5 years old, and my pc is older...I'd need to do some serious upgrading to run it. I run XP on both, and don't have the liquid assets to afford a new computer or upgrading what I have.

yep, he is an amazingly talented business man, bought an OS, renamed it, sold it to IBM, then to other people and made billions!

i'm sure the agreement with MS does state that, however i'll bet its in tiny writing and in misleading legal jargon. If thats the case then they could well be taken to court for having an unclear contract which nobody understands. I believe its been done before to other companies. Also if MS delete stuff on your PC without permission and its not covered by there contract or its important stuff which is lost as a result. Then you could probably sue for damages.

They don't delete. :D

It locks out part of your harddisk. :) It does that, similarly to XP at first. XP tells you that you dont need to edit (fx.) Program Files folder. :) XP allows you to unlock it, Vista locks it and encrypts it. You give up your security when you decrypt. :P

It is more secure, alright, but annoying. I have had it decrypted though, and disabled the realtime contact with MS. :) I have blinded them to my presence. Much like Merlin's Weapon does. :D
I just don't hope they saw the blip. Or some hacker.
Not that anything hackerish scares me. ;)

It looks sweet, and works like a charm with me. :)

If i understand correctly the tech they used to 'phone home' and how it is reported as working you cant actually fully turn it off. If it detects an active internet connection from what I know it will use it.

Of course I dont have vista nor have I used it or plan too. However there are some pretty good articles out there detailing its technology & how it works.

My Aunt almost ran Bill over while he and my Uncle were about to cross the street and go play golf with some other programers. The Wives all go shopping and a bunch of them asked her why she stopped....

even if they don't delete and merely lock your hard drive, if you lose vital data then you could sue. But then again if its that vital you should have 3-5 backups :P
