This is the area which most concerns me.
Many people have been affected by not been able to use bookmarked raid farms and various other links of the sort.
So, this leaves raiders (Im using raiders as an example, as it fits the situation) two options.
1) They can resort to using their war list. Which at the moment is acting a bit strange and is out of place in areas. The other problem with this is that the referrer doesnt allow you to edit the URL, changing the page number, so you must go through each page one by one until you get to the area in the rankings which most concerns you.
2) Use the old fashioned slow way of finding raid targets, which has no problems.
What I am asking here, is that if we cant get our bookmarks to work, is that a search function is implemented at the bottom of every page on every persons war list. Its simple and makes life alot easier.
My 2 pence

I too would like to see implementation of the jump to page function like on the attack page for all areas where a list is implemented and is not already there (ranking by relations, and attack logs especially).
It's become very difficult for people with long lists in these areas to navigate them effectively

The "back" button is not longer working and I have cookies enabled... This is making it virtually impossible for me to play and to be frank I don't know what I am going to do. I live through attacking and this update has destroyed my ability to attack anyone. It takes me an hour to get through 5 pages of battlefield because of all the little tricks I have to use to avoid being kicked.
Frankly the referer aspect is by far the worst update I have seen in the game in over 2 1/2 years of playing this game.

It is only a very minor security advantage, as anyone who wants to hack the game can easily spoof a referer. A certain famous quote from Jefferson comes to mind. It's simply not worth the hassle.
"Perserverance is more prevailing than violence; and many things which cannot be overcome when they are together, yield themselves up when taken little by little."

Since the other thread was locked...
Why this update is bad:
The "Refer" thing screws a lot of stuff up:
-Makes it more difficult to find players(minor annoyance)
-Makes bookmarked raid lists useless
-Makes it impossible to skip pages in your relations area, which for some players is over a hundred pages, must go through each one
-Makes it impossible to skip pages in your attack and intelligence logs, which for some players is well over 100 pages, so when you must go back a few days it can get very bad.
-Makes alliance links no longer useable, so in order to look at alliances you must look up members names or the alliance name, which can take awhile and be confusing due to similar names.
-A few players are not even able to log in anymore...
I am not sure how much more secure this 'refer' update makes the system, but if it doesn't make that big of a difference, it would be better if it could simply be removed, rather than go and fix 10 other problems...

indeed, my motivation in the game was low before this and now i can not raid without doing the old fashioned approach. all my hard work creating a extensive list has gone out of the window.
i dunno whther it is my version of McAfee or something but the directions given do not corelate on my version at all. and mine is pretty recent i thought. For McAfee Firewall: Go to Privacy Service -> Protect my Identity -> Erase Revealing Information and uncheck 'Prevent Referer Information to be Shared'
re-posting here since the other thread was locked

indeed, no offence to forum but all its accomplished is disrupting gameplay for raiders and even normal players. that is if this was a game hack, the solution wasnt fixed
if login details were somehow figured out, what can be done... it wouldnt be a result of any (or any lack of) security updates.
i dont blame forum for trying, and atleast he cares enough but this doesnt seem to be a good enough solution yet

I must say that I am disappointed with this whole matter. To be frank I've never had any kind of security issue, and this update makes playing very arduous - too arduous to keep playing for long. The back button no longer works, and that makes massing and raiding and really any kind of attacking take at least 5 times longer.
I completely support the idea that this security update should be optional - we should be able to switch it off. I'd rather retain the ability to play over having to quit, but if something doesn't change in the next week or two, I will quit out of sheer frustration.
Not a good update.

Hysteria
This update also blows, it's a quick fix that wasn't well thought out......
I wonder what will be next in line to kil the game......
Soon all you can do is login, not attack/mass because it's too difficult to do so and check your messages......
These updates are crazy.......
P.S. I do like the create planet option and the merlins device thingy.
