:P

The updates that have come in affecting the actual way people play the game are good.

But this update is a bad one for the psysical side of the game, it affects the site way to much and makes the game unplayable for some players.

since the Nico thing was a market bug, im guessing the security updates stay. and i think mine (stay) is over due. the thing that kept it fun in the way i did it is now pointless. its a shame

really? how do you know that? i havent been hacked since the update, and 3 times in under a day before it... as soon as i was "restored" i was hacked again.

i changed my password to over 10 digits long. with all 3 types of symbols. in under 20minutes they got into my account. and it wasnt a keylogger on my side, as i was behind a government firewall. if you were going to hack that... why do it for some piss weak game.

also, how do you know that a work-around solution might be in the "works" so to say. jason seems to be very active on the game right now, and id stab a guess that he has already worked out a solution, and is just needing some time to code it/test it/think it over to make sure it works. anyone wanna bet?

Okay. Then instead of trying to put up bigger walls to stop these guys then go after them and delete their accounts. Odds are they are also playing the game. Its just I can't raid, spy on multiple people. and i have safari so I'm screwed. I've never been hacked *knock on wood* if you are getting hacked, perhaps there should be a kind of auxuary thing that you can to to start a new account, and dump all your stuff in there. Or shift game IDs around a lot, it would be a pain for market brokers, but easy to do.

You do not shift IDs. The IDs represent the primary key on the database, no doubt. You cannot switch the IDs, only switch all the other values associated with the IDs. This would be a MASSIVE server operation that would create massive lag. One slip and all game data is also gone too.

Admin said before he wouldnt impliment any security update that would greatly affect gameplay, this IMO does.

Okay, so bad idea, sorry. So why not hire these people to come up with ways to defeat themselves?

BTW I'm using Firefox and I messed with the refer Number. 2 and 1 don't work...

Im still not sure if this is the right place now....If its not please can someone put it in the right place and I am very sorry for posting here if thats the case.

I am having a problem reading the log in code when it has letters as they are so small that it is hard to see. I do understand why we have them but is there anyway that the lettering can be changed or something...

People with limited vision or like myself that after awhile small writting just goes to a blurr would have problems with it...

Thanks for taking the time to look at this

I still cant see how this security update makes gameplay harder. I still can use tabs to raid and such.

Only thing it affects is mass bookmarks, and some other misc things i didn't even heard about. And remember (using automated processes is cheating). I'm not sure what else you can use which is affected by the security update...

But I'm looking forward to hear about it, be it even a pm....

I said it earlier in the thread, but...

The "Refer" thing screws a lot of stuff up:
-Makes it more difficult to find players(minor annoyance)
-Impossible find players on vacation mode.
-Makes bookmarked raid lists useless
-Makes it impossible to skip pages in your relations area, which for some players is over a hundred pages, must go through each one
-Makes it impossible to skip pages in your attack and intelligence logs, which for some players is well over 100 pages, so when you must go back a few days it can get very bad.
-Makes alliance links no longer useable, so in order to look at alliances you must look up members names or the alliance name, which can take awhile and be confusing due to similar names.

It is a decent list :P

Okay lets answer:

-Makes it more difficult to find players(minor annoyance)
>Its true, but the difference is matter of seconds

-Impossible find players on vacation mode.
>True, i will note this to admin

-Makes bookmarked raid lists useless
>now thats tricky... mass bookmarker plugins and such are half way to automated processes, which is illegal. Have to ask admin too...

-Makes it impossible to skip pages in your relations area, which for some players is over a hundred pages, must go through each one
>This is under development i think, there will be pages...

-Makes it impossible to skip pages in your attack and intelligence logs, which for some players is well over 100 pages, so when you must go back a few days it can get very bad.
>same as the previous...

-Makes alliance links no longer usable, so in order to look at alliances you must look up members names or the alliance name, which can take awhile and be confusing due to similar names.
>i never used alliance id's and you can search alliances at the alliance list at your main page.

Jack O'Neill wrote:And the biggest one of all... People no longer know how to log in because their fire wall/browser block referrals and they don't know how to fix it. :?

Thats a user side problem, if they can set up the firewall to make it working, if they cant set up a firewall, dont use it. Or get a working one. I seen some tips in this topic a bit earlier. Same goes for browsers... Working fine with firefox.

Okay, If you sent me a reminder on next Tuesday, i will do the actions that i mentioned...

this thing is just annoying, I have been on for 10 minutes today and already run into it 7 times. The thing I find it most irritating is when you are trying to open up multiple tabs of the same page and it blocks you so you have to go find it again manually for each one.
