Now I know that after building your mother ship u can send it on an away mission to find planets that have no stargate systems. And that it doesn't return for 24 hrs after being sent away. but after mine reurned nothing happen. or am I just missing a bigger picture? How do I know it actually accomplished something and didn't just disappear pointlessly for 24 hrs?

Pointlessly. You have a chance of finding planets. Its not guaranteed

you will get a message in your in box next time your turns come saying what has happened. you dont really want a planet unless you got around 6 bill to defend it and around 500k troops. if you did manage to get one and dont have these things, dont build on it, just pray you wont get attacked.

in the very early days you could search for a planet no problem but now its near impossible. try using the market to make a planet if you're desperate

I have sent my ship out nearly everyday since i got it, still not found any planets

if its out your attacks cost less tho

Here is a thought, if you send your Mother ship away for 24 hours then can it still be massed? Im guessing not, would this help if your in a war and ppl are after it?

Yeah thats correct, if you send it away, all the times its away it can't get massed. Good for when your raiding or like you said in a war.

nor it gets damaged when attackin, thats good when u have a strong MS and raiding, you simply lower your raiding expenses
