but srsly, even if this war involved 500 people, there are more than 500 people that play this game... the majority of the game is NOT at war right now
Please make updates after the war...

dumbest topic ever. Why? Because, as hard as it is for all of you to understand, this war only involves 50 people... wait I guess its alot more than that, mostly because of Legion massing everyone in CoP (Smooth move)

I think the funny part of it all was Extremer and co were KNOWINGLY benefieting from receiving Nox protection despite the fact that they knew with war being declared they weren't supposed to get it.
So knowing full well about this bug, while ignoring it and not telling admin they instead decide to JUMP THE COP about realizing how to attack anyways because you were NOT supposed to be protected!
The bug exploiter crying about someone that figured a way around his "leverage"
How deliciously ironic.
Such amazing Romans we have here.

That would be most difficault.
Admin can't know when there is a war or not and should he decide that it only applies when big alliances are at war but not small ones? Wouldn't that be unfair? There are always wars in this game. Not all are posted in the GC. I know of alot of wars with the smaller alliances.
Sorry mate but that's pretty stupid.
Basically he could almost never do any updates lol

Unannounced updates do tend to drasticly change tactics during warfare. I dont think we should be able to sway the updates. Jasons word is law. But advanced notice of 48 hrs or so is not too much to ask I think. JMHO

another thought is in RL war situations change minute by minute. Both side often have to change tact due to these changes. As this is essentially a war game changes should be seen as just part of the mix.

I'm just wondering about this thread:
http://herebegames.com/StarGateWars/vie ... hp?t=65187
...so to reconstruct:
1. Omega asks for an update March 1st 9:25am
2. Admin approves their request before March 1st 1:30pm
How can anyone beat this 4 hours approval-of-update-from-admin-to-omega record Rolling Eyes
There is something wrong with this game...

May I point out that the update requested was the way things were *already* supposed to be. It just so happened that a certain alliance decided to not report the bug, and an Omegan did instead.
Updates may take awhile, but as forum said, little bugs like that are quick and easy to fix.
It was never an "update" in anyone's favor but enforcing rules that were set MANY months ago.

Although updates do change tactics this is after all a WAR game if you're a big or small alliance fighting it does not matter. Updates can happen at any time just as conditions in the battlefield will change - often with little or no notice.
I have never been a big fan of the NOX setting and to be honest I for 1 am glad that this had been updated. When at WAR you fight not run for cover and when you have taken enough of a beating then you surrender.

This update is needed for many reasons, some of which are to stop people exploiting unintended features during war. So waiting until after the war is over to add them is pretty silly especially since the "big boys" are abusing the unintended feature for the war.
As for accusing people of cheating then i have to say that it is a legitimate tactic until changed. Fair enough it isn't supposed to work, but it does and you can't really blame players for using it considering previous experiences have indicated that "unintended" benefits from new (or old) features are legit until forum says otherwise or patches the game so it can't happen.
Last point, about Omega asking for these changes. Wouldn't surprise me if Forum has spoken to Omega members about the changes, it makes sense to speak to the most experienced players about new features and changes. Is it unfair? No, not really, forum has to run his game as he sees fit, changes need to be discussed with experienced, active players if they are likely to be implemented fairly smoothly.
Of course i have had my share of anti-omega rants before, but some people (including me at one time) need to realise that Forum has a game to run and he has to have input from experienced, active players. I know he speaks to non-Omegan's too, but they probably aren't hated as much so don't get the whines directed at them
