CoP: What should be changed?

well they attacked page 2 alliances with strike teams consisting of 4 or 5 members against 3 to 4 entire alliances per team .. each target is on a list of alliances who have issues with members of said team.. each team must defeat their target causing minimal damage.. and those non insulting vivtims were helped repaired,, if asked politely...

in that term I think I rejected a broker from someone by mistake my appologies mate rebroker me..

So REK that makes it okay of them to have done that? When the page 2 alliance Knew if they retaliated that it ment to complete destruction of their alliance, officers and CO's. PLease quit trying to justify something that is just Wrong. Everyone likes war but that was just WRONG.

how you percieve us or any CoP alliance is purely up to you and yours whether it be right or wrong... Doesnot matter to me in the least...

i think what the others are trying to say that yes your strike team chose their targets but are the targets really capable of putting up a decent fight? Or at least did the target did something to be chosen rather to be chosen because you were bored or were used for target practice

how would you feel if your on the other side of the massing without your nice army size and hard hitting friends? but with a starter army size? and ordinary alliance mates trying to improve your accounts, or if you just started playing and was suddenly targeted because your alliance was somehow lucky to be picked as a target practice?

as COPS you are the biggest and the most powerful group there is, you fight hard and hit hard thats what makes you special and tough but given your positions you should carry yourself to a higher degree, given that you might have some rotten tomatoes in your group, then get rid of them clean your ranks of such people, they dont do you well in the long run as shown with this current war

there members were capable of FARMING our members so they had to know what was gonna come...

No Problem guys yesI do know some of our coalition members get a bit cocky but I do belive its cause they are role playing but all in all we will discuss this further after the war...

This thread makes me glad I am not part of CoP's complaints department I like how paul makes his points nice and clear tho..

Yes it is a war game.. And yes part of the game is STAT BUILDING so you can reach the top, aka become the strongest person/alliance.. But there is more to this game then just having all the top stats, the largest armies..

Those who know me best know why I moved to the hive... Back in September I wanted to set up my own alliance based around teamwork, before stats and power..

In my 2 months with the hive I have created a small family.. While we are not all that close as my family in EPA, we are getting there.. Alliances like Omega, DDE, DD, have been around for a very long time. And the reason they are so "good" at this game is not becuase they have all the best stats, or the largest armies its becuase they act like a team or family..

When people say I am jealous of CoP of course they are right.. I am!! But it is not becuase of where they are or how much power they have.. Only a n00b would think that!! I am jealous because they all work as a team and stick together.. That is the true challenge of this game.. Creating a team that will work.. Not stat building any n00b can do that and then think they can challenge a team!! This is why so many people have failed in the past!

CoP have proven time and time again that they will overcome any challenge, even now their alliances are top 5 after being massed daily for the last 2 weeks.. This is their true legacy that even tho they are 1/3 of their true power they stick together, and it is through war after war that they have weeded out the lone wolfs from the team players.. I intend on doing this with my own alliance.. I do not like lone wolves and will have no place for them around me.. When I have what CoP have I will have everything I want..

However that is where the game ends for me.. Once I have achieved this create a team that I know in any situation in war, peace etc.. Whnn I know I will be able to count on them, there will be no further challenge.. Maybe then I will ascend to the higher ranks

Other alliances need to realise that without teamwork there is no true way to defeat CoP..

What I would love to see however no matter the outcome of the current war is more alliances created by CoP players.. Not involved with CoP but some of the older alliance members..

When I think of Omega, my first thought is EnterTheLion, then I think about the others in there that make/made Omega..

This is the same when I think CoP.. Up untill last week I thought that CoP was run soley by EtL much like the old GA was..

Superpowered alliances may be here to stay but if they are I would really like to see the individual leaders of CoP create their own Superpower Alliances.. Prehaps even some of the members of CoP create their own..

They are all experienced enough to do so..

My question however is why not?? What have you got to lose?? The only thing in this game you can lose is stats... The ultimate achievement is to create a team that works.. CoP have done this.. They have overcome every challenge so why continue knowing that you will never be defeated?

i've read the original post and robindahoods post and thats as far as i got...

so heres my tuppence worth...

i've been playing this game for a year and half now and with the exception of the AK/omega conflict, neither i nor AK (that i know of) has ever had a problem with omega, the GA (when it was around) nor CoP...

i cant speak for AK anymore as i am not in AK but i will say this...

the reason i have never had a problem with any of the big guns is that i look before i attack/raid or take a planet...

i dont step on omega/CoP's shoes and they leave me alone!

most of the people that **Filtered** and whine are those that have either farmed/raided or stolen from CoP members or their officers...

thats asking for trouble, and when it inevitably arrives the 1st thing that happens is the self made victim starts a thread on main forum and starts to whine about how it was a fair hit and they are just bullies...

let me ask this...is it bullying when a player says i will destroy you if you come near me or my officers?

no its not, its called protecting ones self and his officers.

is it bullying when omega or CoP attack someone/alliance when they grow strong or is it good tactics?

can we all please just admit that if we was in any CoP members shoes we would all do the same thing, and if we had the power of any of them we would all act the same.

i wish i had an account that could equal the weakest omegans account, i would most deffenetly use it to have fun with, after all why bother building an account if you intend to be mother teresa?!?!

when i was AK there were a few times that our trainees were picked on, and there were a few times i threatened (on my own) whole alliances with destruction...
i did no more than any omegan would have done....am i a bully?


so in conclusion i dont see why CoP/omega has to change because we all want them to, i sure as hell wouldnt change!!

I think RobinInDaHood's first post nailed it. I do not think I or anyone else could add anything to that to make it better or more complete.

As to the rest of the thread... I have gained respect for some of you on both sides of the war because of some of what has been said here and I have also lost a lot of respect for some of you. Some of what was posted was just foolish and discraseful.

For all of you that have complained because we could not farm the CoP, you can rejoice now, because now things are wide open, you can (and should) farm them as much as possible. And for all of their organization, brotherhood and superior acounts, they can not destroy you, just as you can not destroy them (Isnt it all rather pointless when you look at it in that truth and light?)

As far as I am concerned this war is the new and perpetual state of this game. I truly hope it never ends. My only regret is that we did not get to this point in the game before now. And for those that feel their accounts are too small to fight at this level of play, I encourage them to stay out of it and build as fast as they can so that they can join a side, I dont care which, and start fighting.

I haven't read the other pages so maybe it's been mentioned.

The issue I have with CoP and the reason I think there is a war is the policy of, farm us, we'll mass you. It's not farm us and I'll big a bigger def, it's basically the strategy that a good offense is a better defense.

Nothing really wrong with playing that way but now instead of cop being the only ones with that rule, most in CIA havedecided thats the way this game will be played now.

That's why this war has no end. This game has changed from settling differences through diplomacy to farm and mass.

So really, the question is can you build up while having no defense? This is where CIA has a bit more advantage since there are more players here who are under 10mil army size who don't have a problem farming a guy every turn who is 10 times their size. After all, why rely on our measly 100-500mil incomes when we have plenty of farms making 1-5bil/turn.

There will be no surrender in this war, because CIA has learned from the factions mistake of giving up and it would insane to think that CoP will ever surrender.

So, this truly is stargateWARS now. The only defense you have is ppt because if your not on ppt, then your attacking, farming, raiding, buying turns, buying MTs so you can attack/raid some more.

Also, since CoP members have already said they are "making lists", "massing after the war", "going to sit on your account". There really isn't any reason to ever stop fighting and let you guys get stronger while we can take this time to get stronger ourselves.

It's pretty funny though, all this stress and drama over a text-based browser game. I think it's time to reinstall BF2 with the 21cw mod and make some coalition pilots dance.



Edit: Don't think that CoP are the only people in this game who play the way they do. I've been on the receiving end of a CIA members "training war" against a 2nd page so believe me, everyone is a little guilty and trying to hold up CoP as the "bad" guys is pretty hypocritical.

DD's MAD policy is perfectly fine. DD has MANY restrictions on attakcing. Attacking a person with defence, raiding a person with defence, and taking planets are not encouraged.

DD promotes planet stealing, and has no problem with farming. Massing for UU or just regular massing are the two that require CS approval.

Also, Bryan's PMs to mass people got some people annoyed/worried.

As far as the constant "it is a war game" comments, put a sock in it. There was a time when I thought the same, but I've realized something different. Yes, the game has war in the title. Yes, wars happen, but this game isn't all about war. This game is about diplomacy, strategy, critical thinking, decision making, resource gathering, and intelligent thought. Rome: Total War is a game about war, but you can negotiate. Now I love war. I'll state that upfront. I haven't changed that fact. I love massing people, and I love the possibility of being hit back. I have felt horrible about how much of this war I'm missing because of my work load. But that's not all this game is about. There's more to it than war.

I figured "It's StargateWARS" was the motto of CoP. Are you saying that is incorrect? For as long as I can remember, it's always been CoP members saying that over and over, as justification for massing anybody they want and justification for massing farmers.

While I'm all for standing up for your members, if that member does something that deserves retribution, I think the best thing is to stand aside and let the retribution happen. I've had friends come to me for assistance, but when I find out that they took the guy's planet and that started the trouble, well then sorry. You've earned your beating. Take it and learn from it.

I have no problems if the strongest players want to band together. Replijake takes my planet, meh. He's a better player, he deserves it. But when some guy with 1/4 my army size takes my planet, I look at his account and see the following:

I'm left scratching my head. This guy has 4mil army size and has 5 10bil strike planets and 5 10k UP planets all with minimal def. But he's untouchable. Is he really playing the game? Is he honestly a better player then someone who grows slowly because they have to crawl their way up through a page 2 alliance? Why play chess against someone who has a board full of all queens? You will lose, and he is obviously not the better player.

I guess what I'm saying is that if 10 guys with 50mil armies want to band together and rule, I don't have a problem with it. They deserve it and have obviously earned it. But when those 10 players recruit 20 other players with sub 5mil accounts and allow them to wreak havok under their protection, I have an issue with it. When they outgrow me because my 150bil def is hit when I have 9bil out, but they can have 11bil out with a 20bil def, I have an issue with it.

Let me put a scenario out there for you. If a DDE member with 5mil army size steals my planet, I steal it back. He takes it, so I mass him and take it back. Does anyone honestly believe the rest of DDE will sit on the sidelines saying, "Well kid, you brought this on yourself."?

I have no problems getting my butt handed to me by a better player. But when an annoying gnat is bothering me and his alliance policy is to destroy me if I put him in his place, I get upset.

So, what would I change in the CoP that would make me comfortable? Hmm. A slight change in policy. Perhaps something like:
"We'll stand by you and support you. Even help you grow. But if you get yourself into trouble by acting bigger then you are, then it's your own fault."

i agree with some of whats said here and some thats not. The fact is though COP has earned the right to make the rules and JS quite rightly said its the family aspect which makes cop so powerful.

Every single member prepared to fight for the last uu for the coalition and its respective alliances. While on the other side of the cop fence greenmans post is spot on, but being inside cop i know realize it is deserved. Every member has made a sacrifice and the smaller members in general lose a whole lot more in general during wars relatively to the larger accounts. I lost 610k men being massed 4/ 5 days on my armysize has surpassed what it was before the war. Fact is every member in COP has earned the right to be there and therefore earned the right to protection, although me for 1 would never call in alliance support where it has been my fault (ie if i was in your planet situation).

Also this protection allows you to develop. While having my planets etc and naq 'protected' by my alliance i have grown extremely rapidly and now i 'protect' other members of my alliance as the are smaller then me. the same happens with n00b_hunters early on i wasn't much of a hand i had friends watching my back and now i am strong enough to watch theres and i do so.

simply put CoP is always going to appear as the bad guys to some people since it is impossable to try and please everyone at the same time
as for CoP in my time playing here i have had little trouble with them altho i have to admit i have some good friends in there and have found that the majority are good guys/gals

anyway back to the subject
the main thing is really gonna be like everyone else haas mentioned is the policies, so that if one member of a CoP alliance is starting something he carnt finish, they should let him sort that out himself instead of the other guys having thw whole CoP staring at them with their fingers on the mass button

you can have a planet war with anyone you want if one of ours takes from you first you can take it back you resort to massing then you declared war on DDE ... simple as that the game is not only about wars the game is about communities ... we have our own and we do interact with those outside of it... and still do... seems like only those who get in our cross hairs have an actual grudge.. if your massed for no reason sure be mad but if you massed on of ours for anything aside from being massed by us first then you are just as guilty of the evil you say we do..

members are told they do things at their own risk... if they are truelly massed for any reason aside from the massing a prerson with no reason then we will be more than happy to put the war in the game .. one of ours gets massed cause he got bored and decided to be an arse then oh well hes on his own unless the other persons alliance wants a fight
