The country is to big geographically to host one convention. The only reasonable solution is to have two, one East and one West. Both conventions should be hosted in places where the city is easy to access.
Most people would say Toronto for the East as it is the largest city but that won't work. Basically the only way to get to it is either air (and thats pretty darn expensive). Train and car may work but that only goes so far (to Montreal actually) before the price of it rivals the airlines (not to mention the 401 doesn't need more cars, seeing as how I live in the GTA myself). Montreal on the otherhand should be it considering it is easily accessible (train tickets from anywhere in Ontario/Maritimes - Montreal is $60).
Western Canada is a lot more of a tricky situation, with the territories, mountains and etc. but the cities of optimum accessibiltiy is either Edmonton, Calgary, or Regina as these cities are the centre. Winnipeg maybe? It's the hub to the north trainwise.
